This reminded me of when I had a meeting with the Director of our IT Dept. The company was trying to cut cost on IT by going sole source with a low bidder on tenders for computers. About 3,000 computers so it was a big deal to bean counters.
At the time they started the policy, I was a techie solving problems in the Electric Power Generation Division of the company. I was solving multi-million dollar problems and not interested in a low cost computer that did not meet the spec for my analyzers. The IT Director was not to pleased when I said he could keep his knife. I will go buy myself a nice screwdriver. !LOLZ
