RE: Environment and Education 📚 IAAC #63

in We Are Alive Tribe4 years ago

I remember that a sister of my good friend did the same, but she was a bit older... but, still a child... And as a father of 14 yo kid, when they get into puberty, weird things happen... Just a year-two ago I thought that my child has 100% trust in me, to find that today it's not like that...

We can blame school and education for everything, but it usually comes from the family... So, that's why I'm trying to fill that teenage head of my son that he can have trust and support from his parents whatever happens! He understands a bit, but who knows what is inside his head... Anyways, conversation with children is important, even if it looks like the words don't get to them... They do... maybe not ALL, but something does...

Raising a teenager sounds scary. I think a part of the problem is that parents now are trying to guide their children just as their parents did with them. Not realizing that the world has changed and that the parenting approach should change according to what the world is now.

I think that is exactly what you are trying to do, so that's good.

It's not that scary, but sometimes I'm worried about the level of confidence of my child... but that is probably normal for all parents... And I remember that my parents didn't give too much sh*t about my stuff, and I survived... So, I suppose that he will also...

On the other side, I agree that times are different now than they were 20-30 years ago... and children have different things that trigger their emotions... So, it has to be handled in a different way...
