At first, I would say: how much rewards did I get on my articles / comments / threads but when I think about it, it's more about the comments I get.
When I go through my notifications, I usually don't really look at the rewards one, but I definitely check out every comment I received. So I guess it's mainly the social engagement which is motivating me.

That's very true. Of course it's nice to get upvotes but getting comments is the real reward I believe.
