RE: We Are Alive! November 19th, 2022 Sabbath Gathering

in We Are Alive Tribelast year (edited)

Our little birds are getting to know one another. We found one of our new birds (Lilly) at the bottom of the cage within a week of bringing her home.

Does this mean Lily died? Or she simply become weak or ill, or something else? Either way, this sounds sad. Hopefully it will not happen to more birds.

We returned the bird to the pet shop and they replaced her with a new bird that the girls named Arwin from the LOR books they're reading.

This was nice and kind from the pet shop. What have they done to Lily after this? Is it known? Sounds like the people at the pet shop are kind. If Lily was still alive, then maybe they tried or still trying to cure her. Maybe they are curing her, and it takes a certain amount of time for Lily to be cured to be healthy again. If this is a possible case, then probably it is worth to ask the pet shop from time to time. Hopefully they can cure Lily, if Lily is still alive. I wish all the best with your new bird (Arwin). Hopefully she will be healthy.

The girls were pretty sad to see Lilly laying at the bottom of the cage after just a few days of getting to know her. She did die. It's odd that she would die so quickly, there was no signs of sickness or anything wrong. When we returned her, they explained that a number of buggies have been dying unexpectedly with no signs ahead of time. It wasn't from any mistreatment.

What have they done to Lilly after this? Is it known?

They told us they do an examination to see what was wrong and cremate the little birdy. We wanted to bury Lilly, but in order to get a new bird we had to return the body to the pet shop. We are happy to have the new birdy Arwin, she seems to be getting along with marshmallow pretty well. Our buggies so far have been: Bob, Daisy, Ester, Buttercup, Lilly, Marshmallow, Arwin
