Economics and modeling with SEEDS. Is a local currency better than a global currency?

Economy is a complex domain and if we try to apply simple rules it will probably not work.

Let’s take 3 examples:

A. I live in a town of 100,000 inhabitants that needs a new school.
How do you get the resources to build the school and pay the teachers? You can raise taxes or issue new tokens. Which governance system will decide when we need a new school and how much teachers must be paid?
A regional level seems to be fair. I don’t want to ask to the world SEEDS governance to issue token to build a college in Annecy. The region is large enough to do it.

B. How to take care of disable people? How many social workers are needed? How many doctors and hospitals? What kind of job could they do?
Here again a regional level seems better than a national or trans national one.

C. We are not building SEEDS from scratch, there are already economic systems which has been running for centuries. Europe and USA have loot Africa for centuries. They have build there infrastructure on slavery.

That make USA and Europe much more rich than most African countries. We go on with looting natural resources today: uranium, gold, wood…

Nations have competed the ones against the others and spend fortunes for their armies. In most countries the military budget is the first of the country.

How can we compensate for centuries of inequality? There are not enough resources on the planet for every African to live the European way. Africans have to invent their own way to life. With limited oil resources and climate change, this will be a real challenge. How can we build intelligent North South exchange? This is certainly requiring a lot of discussions and education.

A single currency for all cannot erase the diversity of incomes, education, infrastructures.

New economic models are needed. I don’t think any serious model can avoid the collect of taxes to pay for education, health, retirement and infrastructures. Taxes could also be a mean to redistribute wealth between North and South.
