There are portals of all kinds, portals in time to both the past and the future, portals to experiences, but also portals to emotions and feelings.
I recently read a post that talked about a portal and I asked myself how many times I had passed through portals, especially in my imagination and through my walks.
These portals can consist of an image, a word, a companion, something we see, and in this case, the portal was a mural, a mural in the right place that transported me back many years, and from a garden I went to my own garden and many memories.
It was a walk among well-tended flower beds, which contained a wide variety of plants from all over the world, informative signs and also many flowers.
Some flower beds were square, others circular, with a variety of colours and sizes, many trees, shrubs and very low plants. The garden was surrounded by buildings, but it was as if I did not see them; only that garden existed for me at that moment.
Looking at so many trees, I remembered the fruit trees at the house where I grew up, my maternal grandparents' house. There was fruit all year round because there was such a variety of trees, and we hardly ever had to go to the greengrocer's or fruit shop; the fruit was there, close by, within reach.
In one corner, the gate awaited me, a beautiful mural with two children surrounded by plants. Perhaps it was my brother and I in that garden when we were children.
That made me explore this garden in a different way, as if looking at each flower, each plant, each tree could take me back many years, even when I saw the butterflies flying near me.
I have always liked things that are out of the ordinary, especially in plants, so I like shrubs that have two colours, for example, or that have a different shade of green than what you usually see. Many leaves have veins or a mixture of colours, and I love them.
I approached a place where there were flower beds with very small but beautiful flowers. And there were those shrubs with a greyish hue and a hint of green, which I really like.
I continued my walk, climbed a little higher and saw those well-tended areas of the garden.
I wanted to appreciate that place up close. There were even pots under the trees.
Further away, there was a tree full of pink flowers.

And look how curious, an insect hotel. It was the first time I had ever seen one. Insects play a very important role in nature, and in this garden, they are cared for. Amazing.
Each flowerbed was surrounded by a green fence, but at the same time it had a wide variety of vegetation inside, some plants were just growing and others were larger, all beautiful. On this journey through the portal, I remembered my grandmother. She loved to tend to the garden, keeping it always impeccable, just like this one, with a variety of colours and flowers.
I even accompanied her in the garden many times. She would spend hours there, even talking to the plants. I think it was her refuge from many things that had happened in her life. It was a distraction and also part of her life. Maintaining a large garden takes a lot of time, and I value the time she has dedicated to nature.
There were also water fountains in this park or garden. For me, they represent life.
This large space was full of paths, which reminded me of the paths in that garden I am telling you about, full of grapevines, with grapes in summer, which I remember eating while watering the plants.
It even looked like there were portals when I looked between the giant leaves of some enormous vegetation.
Another beautiful water fountain appeared before me, giving off that life-giving sound of falling water.
Not only did I work hard in the garden where my grandmother once worked, I also enjoyed it, walking through it, sitting down, lying on the grass while the sun shone on my face, playing with my cats and enjoying the flowers and fruits.
Many thoughts came to mind as I walked through this gate and along the paths of this beautiful garden. Many of the plants here were in my childhood home. Today I know that they are well cared for by other people and that the legacy is still there.
It has been a walk that has taken me back in time and brought many smiles to my face, which is the most beautiful thing. Nature and good memories came together.

I don’t understand what’s going on with this connection today—some of the photos aren’t showing, so I’ve surely missed something. They’ll appear… perhaps later, tonight.
Travelling through all those portals brings its own reward. Such beautiful memories. And yes, tending a garden demands many resources, not only the energy of the person who works it… but anything is possible when there’s will and a dream, a stubborn and detailed vision of what one wants to achieve. A hug.
I did it at the time, I accompanied my grandmother, now I am living another stage, I enjoy nature here. Stages and portals. Thank you!

I like the earthy colours of the buildings and the terrain blended with the greenery. It looks so well executed in its design.
There are colours in that place that, when you take photographs, make it look like another world. They are beautiful, thank you!
I love this place, especially the pool, but I like the Insect Hotel even more. It's a very good idea and I'm glad to see it there. I was planning to buy one for my dad's garden and maybe I will next year. it helps with pollination. Lovely place.

I've seen these a long time ago, we even have a demonstration in the local zoo, for educational purposes, but as I'm living in a flat, there's no place for it here, but I'm thinking of one at my dad's place. I love them and are a necessity.
That would be great, they're very good for life. I also live in a flat now, I only have a few pots, but they would look great in a house!
