So after a 12 day drive up the east coast of Australia, stopping here, there and everywhere- including the side of the road here https://peakd.com/hive-153349/@chocolatescorpi/photofeed-contest-landscape-photography-round-124-hive-153349 to stare in awe at the unique beauty of this amazing island continent, I finally made it to my friends house in the Atherton Tablelands in Far North QLD to look after this gorgeous 12yr old girl Gypsy while her parents are off on an epic adventure for a couple of months.
I would love you to tell me what breed you think Gypsy is!
So after waking everyone up at 6:30am with her whimpering, we all got dressed up in our rain gear and Gypsy took us down the foggy road on an adventure to the unknown- for me anyway!
During this walk, we traversed man made bitumen roads with cars and trucks racing past us on the narrow band of gray, so I was very relived when we veered off to a much quieter dirt road that led us up into some pristine, lush rainforest, with healthy green foliage everywhere, including my favourite Fern Trees- Cyathea Cooperi and 2nd favourite species of ferns- Pteridium esculentum, commonly known as Bracken Fern.
Then we crossed this creek and continued up into the mountains
and saw this great windmill shot from the road
Crossed another pretty creek
continued up the dirt road
until we came to the track leading through the rainforest back down to the house
and I saw this cool twisting of vines
while Annie gave her Mother Tree and morning hug
And I had to take a few more shots of this incredible Mother Tree from different angles so we could see all of her stunning sides- and size...
And after about 5kms, we reached the house and settled in to have breakfast, ready for the SUNsational day it eventually became.
With so miuch thanks to @tattodjay for creating this community, I am happy to share a morning story with you all for my #WednesdayWalk, as some people know that mornings aren't my thing, but they will have to be for the next 2 months as Gypsy likes her early morning walks (then she sleeps for the rest of the day and night.🙄.🤣.)
Thank you so much for reading my post, I really hope that you enjoyed it and look forward to your comments and thoughts.

ChocolateScorpi is so incredibly grateful to the traditional custodians of this beautiful land that I call home and I thank you for caring for it for so long.
I pay my respects to elders, past, present and emerging and offer our hand to all first nations hands in order to help heal all of our relationships to the earth on this truly magical and extraordinary island nation that we now all call home.

What a lovely trek you had with Gypsy in such beautiful nature. That black and white mill photo is stunning. But the mother tree, oh my! ♥
Yes it was a great walk, but this walk this morning was even better because we went directly up through the rainforest rather than walking on the road- where no-one slows down....
So what breed of dog do you think Gypsy is?
The ONLY place in the world where you will find this breed is in Australia.
I do not remember the name of the breed but have known about them from watching a documentary about Australia a few years ago. I don't know if Dingo is right, but that pops up in my head. Sounds silly to me. lol
