It's Wednesday again, did you go for a walk today? I am on a journey to discover the beauty of Ha Giang, the northernmost province of Vietnam, in the ripe rice season. And today I would like to introduce one of my best hikes ever. It was my walking tour around Phung village in the ripe rice season. It is said that Hoang Su Phi district is the most beautiful destination in Ha Giang province in the ripe rice season, and if you have not been to Phung village, you have not been to Hoang Su Phi. Saying that so you know that Phung village is a destination not to be missed in the ripe rice season. Phung village is located about 30km north of the center of Hoang Su Phi district. Phung village is nestled in the middle of a beautiful valley, below are the photos I took of it when I was standing on a nearby mountain before walking down to the village.
To fully admire the beauty of Phung village, I listened to the owner of the homestay where I stayed to wake up at 5am to see the whole process of sunrise. My homestay was located right on a mountain right next to Phung village, so I only needed to open the door to be able to witness a majestic scene. In the early morning, when the sun was still hidden behind the mountains, the horizon was red, clouds and fog covered the mountains creating a magical scene. As the sun rose higher, the small houses and terraced rice fields of Phung village gradually appeared in the dense fog.
Then, when the fog cleared, I started my walking journey from homestay down to Phung village to admire its beauty up close. As I approached the houses and terraced rice fields in Phung village, I had to say: they are beautiful. The houses are built with traditional materials and designs of the ethnic minorities here. Small houses with tiled roofs and walls made of soil, wood, bamboo or bricks are built among terraced fields. Looking down from above, I thought the houses were located at different heights. But when walking into the village, I realized that they are located at different elevations like the rice fields here. When looking up from below, the village is even more beautiful.
And I understand why people say that Phung village is a destination not to be missed in Hoang Su Phi district in the ripe rice season. Because the rice fields here are so beautiful. Although the terraced rice fields here are not large, they have a harmonious beauty. Some of the terraced rice fields here are surrounded by small houses, others are gently winding around the hills in the village, others are perched on the distant mountains and there is also a heart-shaped rice field over there. Besides, in the ripe rice season, the small village seems to be wearing a golden coat. All of them create an indescribably harmonious and captivating picture.
When walking into the village, I also had the opportunity to see the peaceful life of the people there. They are the La Chi ethnic minority people. La Chi people are gentle, simple and hard-working people. They lead a simple life compared to the outside world and tend to be self-sufficient. Besides, they are also very friendly people. Even though I was a stranger entering the village, I was greeted with gentle smiles. I felt so warm when I was there. The beautiful scenes made me flutter. The voices of the local people, the sounds of cattle, poultry, the sound of the wind told me an interesting story while I was walking around the village. Until now I still don't think I have had the opportunity to go to such a wonderful place. I hope you also enjoy the walking with me to Phung village. This is what is meant by the splendor of the atmosphere in the village, the green plants that are so fresh grow.
