It's more about what the breed is adapted to. I had a Border Collie, a Scottish breed. He visibly suffered in the Czech summers, which are much, much milder than the Cuban ones. And Scotland is not Siberia.

Huskies are super-happy with dog sledding as snow is their natural habitat. Their fur makes them suffer in high temperatures.

Of course, each breed belongs to a specific place, and it is true that the animals suffer from the climate. People have dedicated themselves to introduce these breeds here, I have seen them from all over the world. Imagine, Chow Chow dogs, Shar Pei... I have seen Rhodesians, Dogos and even Saint Bernards.

Sure. A Bichón habanero would freeze in the polar regions, and nobody takes such breed there.
