A short Wednesday walk with a bit of history [ENG/ESP]
Greetings, fellow Wednesday walkers! I hope you are all doing well and enjoying good health and well-being.
Walking is an excellent way to exercise our bodies, so I decided to leave my house and walk to the hardware store in search of a sink faucet. I left my car behind and set my feet in motion.
I passed by the bakery, where I would buy bread on my way back, and continued to enjoy the scenery, the blue sky, and the beautiful formations of white clouds.
There were few people on the street because it was early. I liked the architecture of the Mormon church, with its beautiful facade and elegant fence.
I passed by the Ceiba Bridge, where Simon Bolivar camped with his army last century on one of his horseback tours of the country. There is a huge ceiba tree there that covers a good part of the park with its shade, the same shade that sheltered the Liberator a few years ago.
Most young people are unaware of this park and its significance, which is why a sign was placed there to commemorate that date.
The park is equipped with benches, playground equipment for children, and exercise equipment for adults.
Right in the center of the square, there is a covered court where a volleyball game was taking place at the time, and I stopped for a while to watch. It was exciting to see the girls giving their all to win, and it took me back to my student days when I played that sport.
Finally, I arrived at the hardware store.
I confess that, despite the stifling heat, it was a very rewarding and relaxing walk.

Un breve paseo de miercoles con un poco de historia
Saludos amigos caminantes de los miércoles, espero que se encuentren muy bien con mucha salud y bienestar.
La caminata es una excelente forma de ejercitar nuestro cuerpo, así que decidi salir de mi casa a la ferretería en busqueda de una llave para lavamanos, dejé el carro y puse los pies en acción.
Pasé por la panadería, donde compraría el pan de regreso, seguí disfrutando del paisaje, del azul del cielo y las lindas formaciones de blancas nubes.
Habia poca gente en la calle porque era temprano, me gustó la arquitectura de la iglesia de los mormones, con su bonita fachada y su elegante cerca.
Pasé por el puente la ceiba donde Simon Bolivar acampó con su ejército el pasado siglo en uno de sus recorridos a caballo por el país. Allí hay una enorme ceiba que cubre con su sombra una buena parte del parque, la misma sombre que cobijó al Libertador hace unos cuantos años atrás.
La mayoría de los jóvenes desconocen este parque y su significado y por eso allí colocaron un letrero para recordaresa fecha.
El parque esta dotado de bancos, aparatos para la recreación de los niños y tambien para que las personas hagan ejercicio.
Justo en el centro de la plaza hay una cancha techada donde en ese momento se desarrollaba un juego de volleyball y me detuve un rato a verlo. Fue emocionante ver a las chicas dando todo por ganar y me remonté a mi época de estudiante cuando practicaba ese deporte.
Finalmente llegué a la ferretería ubicada en el centro comercial el valle.
Les confieso que, a pesar del calor sofocante, fue un paseo muy provechoso y relajante.
