Hello my dear hivers of the Wednesday Walk Community! I hope you're all well and safe.

This week, I took another simple but refreshing afternoon walk along the riverside. This is my second walk her for the week. And it turned out to be more than just a stroll it was also a walk down memory lane while I'm telling my stories about this place with my husband.

There’s a dike near our place where you can see a lovely view of the town’s bridge connecting Barangay Doña Maxima and Doña Flavia. From this spot, I could also see the river stretching wide and calm, though its water looked a bit brownish because of the almost daily afternoon rains. The weather was cloudy, that kind of gray sky that tells you rain is just waiting for the right moment to fall. True enough, not long after we got home, the rain poured heavily, just as expected.

As I sat there watching the view, my eyes wandered to the area where the main river meets a smaller one. That spot holds so many memories. Back in high school, this was the river we used to cross every day, especially when there was a big flood. If we had a bit of money, we’d ride a pumpboat to get to school. But when times were tight, our father would row us across using our small baroto a narrow wooden boat.

The place where I sat during this walk was actually the old docking area back then. Sitting there again after so many years made me nostalgic. It felt like time stood still, yet everything had changed.

Going home, I passed through this peaceful path where cornfields stretched on one side and rice fields waved gently on the other. The sunset added its golden touch to the scenery, painting the fields in warm hues of orange and gold. It's such a beautiful sight to see while walking.

This simple walk brought me back to the people and places that shaped me. And for me, this riverside walk wasn’t just about the view. It was a heartfelt reminder of home, family, and how far I’ve come.

That's all for today. Thanks for reading this far. Til my next post!

STOPThat was a great walked along the riverside, I am sure it was raining there or on the mountain because of the muddy water.
Yes, almost every afternoon it rains. That's why the river's color is brownish. Thanks for reading my post and for leaving a comment.
