Best wishes to hive community friends around the World and enjoy a happy day. Sharing my experience a few month ago I visited the city of Solo. The city of Solo is in the Province of central java. The city of Solo has many names such as the city of culture, the city of Batik.
In the past the city of solo was ruled by the Kesunanan Surakarta,so until now there are many historical heritage building. I tried to walk to see the historical building in the form of the Surakarta palace.
This building is quite unique, there are lots of ornaments that decorate the face of the building, in the front of the palace building there is a a cannon that was used in ancient times to attack the enemy.
Moving a few meters from the palace location, can see a traditional market called the Klewer market. This market is famous for selling traditional batik cloth, selling various handicrafts, also selling souvenirs. The goods sold are quite cheap if you can bid.
Not far from the market location, there is an old mosque building in Kesunanan Surakarta. This mosque was built around 1763 with an architectural form taking the concept of local wisdom, adapting of to local natural condition it looks made of wood with good art.
In the front room there is a drum the side part convered with animal skin is used by hitting it to mark the time for prayer. The grand mosque in Surakarta is equipped with a tower, this tower was built around 1928. At that time this tower was used to announce the call to prayer during prayer using a some kind of trumpet.
Then I walked to ward the Gedhe market in Solo city, I walked past Slamet riyadi street a main road and saw a statue at the intersection, one of the quite large and multi storey hotel building on that road.
Continue walking along the side walk, stopping for a moment in front of the Solo city hall office, the front yard if city hall office is quite wide, there are several statue in the form of wayang pandawa statue symbolized of kesatrian.
One of the road sign installed on the side walk makes it easier for visitors to get to road their destination. Gedhe market Solo city is a traditional market and one of the oldest markets in solo city.
This market was built around 1927, location on Urip Sumoharjo street, the area of this market is not as large as the Klewer market, this big market is a culinary center for traditional snack and souvenirs.
