Hello, my dear Hivers!

This is the continuation of my previous blog, and this part happened right after our dinner. Our ma’am from probation, who hosted the house blessing, surprised us with small gifts — a keychain with a mini Bible and a cute red token. I honestly felt so touched when she personally handed them to us.

At 7PM all the guests had already eaten, and therefore it was time to begin with the activities more officially. One the of student interns, the lively emcee was Kuya Andrew’s who took the lead and started directing the games. The visitors were very cooperative and game to join in, which made everything even more enjoyable.

Before going further, I must say that the mini bar was beautiful that night! The soft, warm lights and the gold leaf decorations made the area look classy. The mini glasses that were displayed on the shelves gave an antique touch making the whole spot look from one of the Pinterest boards. It was, without a doubt, an aesthetic place that caught the eye even with the soft sunset rays.

Next, let’s dive into the drinks!Initially, one of the drinks caught my eye in a way that I assumed it must be a mango shake, it smelled so refreshing and fruity, just like freshly blended ripe mangoes. Notwithstanding, I asked the bartender whether there were any non alcoholic alternatives. She informed me that the major portion of the beverages they served were alcoholic ones. The scent was so deceiving that I could not stop myself from laughing, it really triggered my desire for a cold, sweet fruit shake instead! Not being a regular drinker of alcohol, I made the decision not to partake and just amuse myself by taking a few selfies, HAHA!My friend Keziah was likewise on the same wavelength, she is not a fan of alcoholic beverages as well, so she courageously approached the bartender asking if it was possible to prepare an alcohol, free drink for us. Fortunately, the bartender is actually her friend, which really lifted the whole moment! With a big smile, she said she could make a mocktail specially for us.

I was genuinely delighted and calm. It was like a little triumph, something refreshing that we could have without worrying about the alcohol content. The beverage she prepared was colorful, sweet and surprisingly tasty! In fact, we jokingly said that we should give it a name “The Safe Choice” because it was most suitable for our vibe that night. That little sign of appreciation really made the evening more special and demonstrated how caring people can be.

It was already 8 pm when we looked at our phones. Keziah checked whether I was going home, since the last trip was around that time. I told her I still had the option to head back before the buses stopped passing by. She showed her readiness to accompany me, saying she and Jared would both drop me off and wait with me at the bus stop. I took my leave after saying thank you to ma’am, other student interns and goodbyes.

The three of us were on our way a few moments later, me, Keziah and Jared (who is really one of the funniest people I know; we can’t help but laugh a lot when we’re together). When we got to the bus stop, I said that maybe I accidentally had a sip of an alcoholic drink since it didn’t taste quite like juice, and I said I was feeling a bit lightheaded. Keziah then also thought so! However, we just laughed the funny way of the situation off.

I was sitting on the bench while the two of them were standing so that they could easily sign down any bus or v, hire that passed while waiting.

Minutes later, a v-hire finally arrived. I stepped inside and before it started moving I waved at my friends as I departed, expressing how thankful i am for staying with me until I could reach home safely. Times like this remind me how lucky I am to have the sort of friends that do not only make me laugh but also ensure my safety and make every single gathering more memorable.

Friends are the family we choose for ourselves. I hope you cherish yours. It looks like you had a fun evening. The keyring with the Bible is a lovely gift, and the non-alcoholic cocktail you enjoyed looks delicious!
