Last weekend my daughter took part in running a marathon as part of a team from her work.
They ran from Durban to Umhlanga Rocks (on the East Coast of South Africa).
They ran all along the coastline and while we were waiting for them to show up to support them, I got some nice early morning images of the fishermen's activities on the beach.

I managed to get this photo just as the sun rose over the ocean.

Fishermen activities just after sunrise.

Activity continues in the early morning.
Thank you for viewing my images.
Such beautiful early morning light a very popular spot for fishermen
A great space to wait and watch and support your daughter

Interesting. Where about in South Africa does your friend live?
Yes, I've made it and I would definitely love to re-visit and see if I can connect with other community members. It would be great to make this part of a weekly routine.
I had a busy, but good, productive day, thank you. It is currently 8 pm here and I am starting to wind down a bit. Just finishing odds and ends after dinner...
Have a great day and I will be on the lookout for your pictures!

Glad you got the video clip done, even though it took a bit longer...lol.
Yes, when people refer to Johannesburg, it actually includes a huge area with many different towns...
I'll poke around and see if I can find these names you've mentioned. Thanks for that!
Wow. Great pics @jacoalberts. This took me right back to a couple of months ago when my bride @dreemsteem, my son and I got to go deep sea fishing off of the coast of California. We smashed those fish and wound up getting our limits. We feasted on fish and chips and even tried mushy peas for the first time. Thanks for bringing me back.
You're most welcome! I'm glad if I played a part in bringing back those great memories! It sounds awesome! Nothing beats having those special times with your family, isn't it?
We as a family also just love the ocean. When we moved down to live at the ocean it was a dream come true!
Thanks for sharing those special moments with us, @biggerjoe! It's a good feeling when you hear your photos have that effect when sharing them with someone else!
