Walk or Workout?

Sometimes I wonder if some of my walks are really just for me to clear my mind or if they're just another workout. That happens when I don't go out alone, but with other people, as in the case of my post today. I always do it with the intention of clearing my mind, enjoying myself, and taking good photos for Hive, but I see that my companions have other purposes, and without realizing it, I'm in the middle of another workout to strengthen my legs, especially if we're climbing a mountain.



A veces me pregunto si algunos de mis paseos realmente son para salir a despejar mi mente o si simplemente se trata de un entrenamiento más, y eso ocurre cuando no salgo solo, sino que me acompañan otras personas, como en el caso de mi publicación de hoy. Yo siempre lo hago con la intención de sanar la mente, disfrutar y tomar buenas fotografías para Hive, pero veo que mis acompañantes tienen otros propósitos, y sin darme cuenta estoy en medio de un entrenamiento más para fortalecer las piernas, especialmente si estamos subiendo la montaña.



Whatever feels good to us is good for us; in fact, being together is a greater motivating force. Everyone has their own reasons; seeking peace of mind, connecting with nature, solitude, cardio, or creating content for Hive—anything is valid. The important thing is to surround yourself with the right people to make it a pleasant experience and not have to bring worldly problems with you on such sacred outings. That's how I see it when we decide to take green routes, away from the noise of the city and where we only find people with similar goals.



Todo lo que nos haga bien está bien para nosotros, de hecho el acompañarnos es una fuerza motivadora más grande. Cada quién tendrá sus razones; buscar paz mental, conectar con la naturaleza, la soledad, hacer ejercicios cardiovasculares o crear contenido para Hive, todo es válido, lo importante es rodearse de las personas correctas para que sea una grata experiencia y no tener que llevarse problemas mundanos a paseos tan sagrados, porque así los veo cuando decidimos tomar rutas verdes, alejados del ruido de la ciudad y donde solo encontramos personas con metas parecidas a las nuestras.



Those who read me know that I prefer to do these activities alone, but each experience is different and adds to that special feeling I find in hiking or just taking a walk in the mountains for a while. On this occasion, my wife and my best friend accompanied me; I think we've gone out together several times before. They seemed like innocent outings where we would talk about our issues, trying to drain and heal, but they turn out to be training sessions. Without realizing it, we gain more stamina with each climb, with each photo of the landscape, and the benefits for body and mind are immediate. I swear I come back from my mountain walks feeling refreshed...



Quienes me leen saben que prefiero hacer estas actividades solo, pero cada experiencia es distinta y suma a ese sentimiento especial que encuentro en lo que sería hacer senderismo, o dar un paseo a la montaña por un rato. En esta ocasión me acompañó mi esposa y mi mejor amigo, creo que ya hemos salido juntos varias veces. Parecían salidas inocentes donde hablaríamos de nuestros problemas para drenar y sanar, pero resultan ser entrenamientos, sin darnos cuenta vamos adquiriendo más resistencia con cada subida, con cada foto del paisaje, y los beneficios para el cuerpo y la mente no se hacen esperar... Les juro que llego renovado de mis paseos a la montaña...

Those are the things I like about hikes: they're multipurpose. They help strengthen the body, clear the mind, and allow you to take photographs of the surroundings. You can do it alone or with friends and loved ones. That's why I love Wednesday hikes.

Although I enjoy doing it alone, when I am accompanied the experience is also very pleasant, and the more people climb with me, the better it is. Thank you...

It's been a while since you wrote this comment, but I remember that you were feeling down that week; I read it in one of your posts. I know how much love you have for this community, and even if you don't show up or comment for a day, we will always appreciate what you have done here at Hive. I think these outings are a bit of both: training and relaxation. Even if you don't think you're going to exercise, the simple act of walking or climbing is like part of an exercise routine.

Creo con firmeza lo que dices, ya que en una época yo subí el cerro del hotel Maracay, y de verdad que el contacto con la naturaleza, lejos del bullicio de la ciudad, es necesario para recargar energías, y si estás con buena compañía, mucho mejor. Que bueno que estés haciendo del senderismo una rutina.

Creo que subir ese cerro es más pdoeroso aún, ya que el sol y el calor inclemente de Maracay deben poner el camino difícil, pero igual espero intentarlo alguna vez con mis amigos... ¡Gracias Cochanet!.
