Hello Wednesday Walk, like every week, I am sharing with you my publication about interesting places in my city. 😃
I am currently in Havana, the capital city of Cuba, specifically in the Playa Municipality. The place I am visiting today is known as the Miramar Trade Center (MTC). It is a complex of six buildings located on 3rd and 5th Avenues within the blocks of 76th and 78th streets. The area is located in a popular tourist destination, surrounded by several interesting places, such as the Melia Habana, Comodoro, Triton, and Panorama hotels. It is also very close to the coast and the 1st and 70th Seaside Promenade, making it a privileged location for those who want to combine business with local tourism.
There are many beautiful things to see here, including a set of sculptures of thirteen African elephants in one of the gardens, which resemble a real herd. It is a very popular space and a favorite for children to have their pictures taken and play among these large metal pachyderms. Many of the premises on the first floor of the complex's buildings are leased to business firms, travel agencies and national companies, as well as a variety of stores and cafes.
I was with my family in one of the cafeterias of the place that I liked very much for its colorful design and that makes reference to the work of the renowned Cuban plastic artist Amelia Peláez del Casal, who was also the niece of the Cuban poet and intellectual Julián del Casal. The place is decorated with different details that remind us of the paintings of her works of art. ☕️
It is a cozy place surrounded by a quiet, pleasant atmosphere and offering a very charming view of all the surroundings. Here we sat down to cool off from the heat of the day and enjoy some refreshments and a delicious Cubita coffee.
Coffee is a very appreciated drink by Cubans (although there are some rare cases that prefer tea hehe). We have a very tasty coffee, and we count with several recognized brands that are exported to different countries. Although it is not a beverage native to the island, we have made it our own and it is part of our culture and customs. The climate and geography make our lands perfect for its cultivation and development. Our coffee is known for its strong and delicious aroma. Cubans love to prepare it and drink it in its strongest form, sweetened with sugar, although preferences vary from person to person, personally I usually drink it with little to highlight its characteristic bitter taste.
Here we recovered our energies after our walk, so the Amelia coffee shop and its tasty coffee will undoubtedly be a must visit every time we pass by this place.

Hola Paseo de Miércoles, como cada semana estoy compartiendo con Uds. mi publicación sobre los lugares interesantes de mi ciudad.
Me encuentro en la de Ciudad Habana capital de Cuba específicamente en el Municipio Playa, y este lugar de mi paseo de hoy es conocido como el Centro de Negocios de Miramar (MTC). Este es un complejo de seis edificios ubicados en las avenidas de 3ra y 5ta dentro de las manzanas de las calles 76 y 78. Los mismos se encuentran en una zona turística rodeados de varios lugares de interés como son los hoteles Meliá Habana, Comodoro, Tritón, Panorama; y muy cercano también de la zona costera y el Paseo Marítimo de 1ra y 70. Lo que lo convierte en un sitio privilegiado para los que quieran combinar los negocios con el turismo local.
Aquí hay muchas cosas bonitas para ver, incluyendo el conjunto de esculturas de trece elefantes africanos que se encuentran en uno de sus jardines, que asemejan a una manada real. Es un espacio muy popular y preferido por los niños para hacerse fotografías y jugar entre estos grandes paquidermos de metal. Muchos de los locales que se encuentran en la planta baja de los edificios del complejo están arrendados a firmas de negocios, agencias de viaje y empresas nacionales, además de gran variedad de tiendas y cafeterías.
Estuve con mi familia en una de las cafeterías del lugar que me gustó mucho por su diseño colorido y que hace referencia a la obra de la reconocida artista cubana de la plástica Amelia Peláez del Casal, quien era además sobrina del poeta e intelectual cubano Julián del Casal. El lugar está decorado con diferentes detalles que nos recuerdan las pinturas de sus obras de arte. ☕️
Es un sitio acogedor rodeado de un ambiente tranquilo, agradable y que ofrece una vista muy encantadora de todos los alrededores. Aquí nos sentamos a refrescarnos del calor del día y a disfrutar de unos refrescos y un rico café Cubita.
El café es una bebida muy apreciada por los cubanos (aunque hay algunos casos raros que prefieren el té jeje). Tenemos un café muy sabroso, y contamos con varias marcas reconocidas que se exportan a diferentes países. Aunque no es una bebida originaria de la isla, la hemos hecho nuestra y forma parte de nuestra cultura y costumbres. El clima y la geografía hacen que nuestras tierras sean perfectas para su cultivo y desarrollo. Nuestro café es conocido por su aroma fuerte y delicioso. A los cubanos nos encanta prepararlo y tomarlo en su forma más fuerte, endulzado con azúcar, aunque las preferencias varían de persona a persona, personalmente suelo tomarlo con poca para que resalte su sabor amargo característico.
Aquí recuperamos las energías después de nuestra caminata, por lo que la cafetería Amelia y su sabroso café sin dudas será una visita obligada cada vez que pasemos por este sitio.

Que buen post amiga. La verdad por las fotos que nos has mostrado se ve que es un lugar muy bonito. Me gustó mucho la arquitectura de los edificios aledaños. Le dan como un toque moderno a la ciudad.
Y en cuanto al café te cuento que acá en oriente son un poco diferentes los gustos. A muchos en vez de fuerte les gusta más claro y sobre todo dulce.
En mi caso a pesar de ser oriental me gusta fuerte y que no esté muy dulce. Como dice el dicho para el gusto los colores. jajaja.

Les mando un abrazo. Esa zona de Miramar me gusta mucho, tengo una amiga que trabaja por ahí y ahora justo pienso en ella que hace días no nos hablamos ni por teléfono. A ella la visita una paloma en su oficina del Miramar Trade Center. Voy a llamarla, mira, tu post de hoy me llevó hasta mi amiga.
