On Wednesday afternoon, my aunt came to my house looking for me to invite me to go to the rice fields to help her cut the remaining rice that had been left in the fields due to a failed harvest. I refused, but she kept begging me to go to the fields to help her collect the remaining rice that was still usable. My aunt said she had to collect the rice so she could sell it to buy medicine. After she said it would help her buy medicine, I finally agreed to go to the fields to help her cut the remaining rice.

We walked about 500 meters to the rice fields. My aunt brought a rice-cutting tool that looked like a sickle. I don't know the exact name of the rice-cutting tool. It was like a machete but with a curved blade.

The rice fields are brownish in color, as many failed harvests due to the dry season in my area. The prolonged lack of water to the fields has caused the soil to dry out, and the rice hasn't grown well, leading to crop failure.

On the way to the rice fields, we saw that there were so many cows belonging to local residents eating the rice.

My aunt was disappointed when she saw that the cows had already eaten the rice in the fields, but we continued our journey to the location where we were going to cut the rice.

I thought this cow was quite big and had horns, and we were a little wary when we passed it.

We walked on the green grass that grew around the water channel.

And wild grasses grow in clumps in the water channels in the rice fields

The grass grows very well, while the rice dries up.

Look at this wild plant, it's so beautiful, I love its small flowers.

There is a red beetle perched on the flower

This plant seems to be leafless , I found it on my way to the rice field, this plant was growing well on the embankment.

Small weeds that also grow on rice field embankments

Well, this is the rice that failed to harvest this year.

The rice is dry and brown, but on some of the rice stalks there is still yellow rice that can still be used.

We only got half a sack because most of the rice had been eaten by the cows and goats that entered the rice field area.

Since it was late afternoon, we finally went home, only having one sack. However, that would be reduced as my aunt cleaned the rice, removing the empty paddies or paddy with no kernels. After cleaning the rice, my aunt would sell it, maybe she only got $2 USD for the rice she collected to pay for her hospital treatment. She had been suffering from a severe urinary tract infection (UTI) for seven years.
