Today I want to join the #wednesdaywalk, called by @tattoodjay every week. On this occasion, I show you a little tour I did around the José Martí airport. I must admit that I have had to go more times than I would like, as it is not always pleasant, being a place of receptions and farewells. Receptions are usually pleasant, but farewells always leave a bitter taste, since we do not always know when we will see those who are leaving again.

Hoy quiero unirme al #wednesdaywalk, convocado por @tattoodjay cada semana. En esta ocasión, les muestro un pequeño recorrido que hice por el aeropuerto José Martí. Debo reconocer que he tenido que ir más veces de las que me gustaría, ya que no siempre es agradable, al ser un lugar de recibimientos y despedidas. Las recepciones suelen ser agradables, pero las despedidas siempre dejan un sabor amargo, ya que no siempre sabemos cuándo volveremos a ver a los que se van.
In my country, in recent years, a very sad phenomenon is taking place, a great migratory wave, in which many young people are leaving in search of new horizons, fleeing from the terrible economic situation we are going through. As parents, we understand all their illusion and desire to move forward in better circumstances, and we know that it is their time to spread their wings, dream and fly towards a better future.
En mi país, en los últimos años, se está produciendo un fenómeno muy triste, una gran oleada migratoria, en la que muchos jóvenes se marchan en busca de nuevos horizontes, huyendo de la terrible situación económica que atravesamos. Como padres, comprendemos toda su ilusión y ganas de salir adelante en mejores circunstancias, y sabemos que es su momento de desplegar las alas, soñar y volar hacia un futuro mejor.
As I walk around, look at the details and take pictures, I can't help but think about what we are going through and send all my positive thoughts to all those who are leaving, even if we are left with a broken heart. I know that the process of emigration is difficult to face, arriving in an unknown country and having to work hard to make your way. However, now the young people must follow in their own footsteps and we can only support them.
Mientras paseo, observo los detalles y hago fotos, no puedo evitar pensar en lo que estamos viviendo y enviarles todos mis pensamientos positivos a todos los que se marchan, aunque nos quedemos con el corazón roto. Sé que el proceso de emigración es difícil de afrontar, llegar a un país desconocido y tener que trabajar duro para abrirse camino. Sin embargo, ahora los jovenes deben seguir sus propios pasos y nosotros sólo podemos apoyarlos.
The José Martí airport is quite small, but it has quite cozy outdoor areas that make the moment not so monotonous. It has a lot of vegetation and when you go up one of the ramps you can see the airplanes and the big control tower.
El aeropuerto José Martí es bastante pequeño, pero tiene zonas exteriores bastante acogedoras que hacen que el momento no sea tan monótono. Tiene mucha vegetación y cuando subes a una de las rampas puedes ver los aviones y la gran torre de control.
On the outskirts where relatives wait for the arrival or departure of their loved ones, there are several gastronomic offers, which are managed by a new form of non-state business management that keeps it well stocked.

Here are these pictures I took while we were waiting for my daughter-in-law to board her flight. My son intended to make this trip with her but although here in Cuba you can get a passport quite easily, it is not a strong passport and many other documents and legalizations are needed that were not in time for him to make this trip together, so we have to wait and continue with the formalities. Aquí están estas fotos que tomé mientras esperábamos que mi nuera abordara su vuelo. Mi hijo tenía la intención de hacer este viaje con ella pero aunque aquí en Cuba se puede obtener el pasaporte con bastante facilidad, no es un pasaporte fuerte y se necesitan muchos otros documentos y legalizaciones que no estaban a tiempo para que él pudiera hacer este viaje juntos, así que tenemos que esperar y seguir con los trámites. It nice to see you take time out of your day to walk around your community. It really good for the body and also I love the pictures you took around including the airport. I have not been to the airport before but hopefully I will get to go to one here before the year runs out.
