And it's Wednesday again...
And again some sunny memories alive in my heart.
Recently the world has become more and more restless. There is a war going on in my country and civil people are dying every day. It is very hard if the future is completely unknown. Many of my compatriots have left abroad since the beginning of the war to wait out the war. But many of them will never return... And I belong to those who stayed. Therefore, periodic visits to other countries are always like a breath of fresh air for me.
On that day, exactly a month ago, I visited the edge of a peaceful world, the ancient town of Przemyśl, not far from the border of Ukraine and Poland. I was supposed to transport two homeless cats that had found their homes abroad to Poland.
But after completing my task, I realized that the weather was simply wonderful and I really wanted to take a walk around the town and watch the river.
From the train station to the river, it's a 10-15 minute walk.
I haven't seen such a sunny day in a long time. This interseason between winter and spring always gives some hope.
My first freedom is to spend at least an hour in a country where there is no war. Although we all understand how illusory peace is on planet Earth.
This pretty church is located in a ravine and it is impossible to photograph it completely. It seems to grow out of the ground!
And here is Syan. It is a calm, wide flat river. There are no large reservoirs in my city, so I can look at this river for a very long time and listen to the sound of the water. It seems to me that a river is the decoration of any city.
I crossed the bridge to go down the stairs closer to the water. When the trees are still leafless, it is especially interesting to observe the architecture, to catch new angles.
My second freedom on this walk is the opportunity to take photos calmly. Unfortunately, in my country, if you walk and take shots in a small town, the locals look at it with disapproval and may make remarks.
Because there are saboteurs who can collect information about important objects and pass it on to the enemy. For example, it is strictly forbidden to photograph bridges. This is our reality...
For some time I looked at the clear water. Not so long ago there must have been ice here, but now ducks are already swimming. People with dogs slowly walk along the embankment. And pigeons, eternal inhabitants of every city, look at water with interest.
This calm landscape is complemented by low bright old houses on the embankment.
On the way back, I decided to return to the station through Rynok Square. This incredible sun and blue sky with small white clouds added a truly fabulous mood to the Renaissance houses. Each of them is like a personality with its own history and memories. In the background, you can see the tops of ancient churches, which I will tell about next time! I was here last summer and then had the opportunity to look inside the majestic temples.
The city is located on the hills and therefore it is interesting to explore it, finding new perspectives and angles every time.
And although it is quite tiny, I have not yet had time to visit several interesting places!
Therefore, it is worth returning...
And by the way, my third freedom in this walk is to rest a little and not think about my homeless cats. Then it is easier to continue the fight further.
I remind you that small trips (or better, big trips!) help a person tune in to a positive mood and look at their own life differently.
Thanks for your visit and support!
Your description of Przemyśl as 'the edge of a peaceful world' really resonates, especially given the context of what's happening in your home country. It's a poignant reminder of how precious peace and simple freedoms are.
Many thanks for your feedback and warm words, dear @laimagenhabla!💙💛
That church looks so beautiful with unique design on its edges. You had a great time exploring the surrounding area with amazing view of the different picturesque buildings. I sometimes also worry about locals who may misunderstood my taking pictures, so sometimes I ask for permission, but it can get awkward. We have no specific rules though when taking pics outdoor, just maybe some who are conscious if they are accidentally included in the frame. Beautiful blue sky adds more beauty to the site.
Thanks so much for your visit, reading and feedback! 💞💞💞💞
