In any part of the planet, I look for a forest with my eyes. As a place of protection from the world of people, from the heat, from city noise.
Now my mother and I are vacationing in Transcarpathia, on the salt lakes of Solotvino. The temperature is +30 or more and is not going to retreat anywhere... The lakes are not cold at all, but warm like fresh milk (but this is another story). I already look like a "baked mushroom".
So I dragged my mother into the forest to get mushrooms and to breathe in the coolness of the forest.
В будь якому місці я шукаю очима ліс. Як місце захисту від світу людей, від спеки, від міського шуму. Дика лісова істота.
Зараз ми з мамою відпочиваємо у Закарпатті, на солоних озерах Солотвино. Температура +30 і більше тримається і не збирається нікуди відступати... Озера взагалі не холодні, а теплі як свіже молоко. Я вже схожа на підпечений гриб. Отож витягнула маму в ліс по гриби, щоб подихати лісовою прохолодою.
We live on the edge of the town and it is a 3-minute walk to the beginning of the forest. We did not have adequate shoes (I had no idea where we were going and did not take sneakers on the trip). Mom borrowed rubber boots from the owners of our apartments, and I went in sandals.
The forest is located on a hill, but when we got there, we realized that further there was a descent, a deep ravine with a stream, and on the other side there's another steep mountain. Maybe the locals know some gentler climb...
Ми живемо на краю містечка і до початку лісу йти 3 хвилини. Адекватного взуття у нас не було (я не зовсім уявляла собі, куди їдемо і не взяла кросівки в подорож); мама позичили гумовці у господарів хати, а я пішла у сандалях.
Ліс розташований на пагорбі, але дійшовши туди ми зрозуміли, що далі є спуск, глибокий яр з потічком, а по той бік — ще одна крута гора. На стежини, ні зачіпки. Можливо місцеві знають якийсь більш пологий підйом...
Therefore, we wandered along the ridge of the first hill. Mom felt quite confident in her shoes:) Unlike me...
She managed to find some russulas, and I quickly realized that my current task is to take photos and just rest from the heat. Attention grabbed beautiful little things from space.
I really liked the small bumps covered with bright green moss. Yesterday there was a strong thunderstorm, so even today there were still drops of water on the plants.
Тому ми бродили по хребту першого пагорба. Мама у своєму взуття почувалась досить упевнено:) На відміну від мене... Мамі вдавалося знайти якісь сироїжки, а я швидко зрозуміла, що моє нинішнє завдання — це робити фото і просто відпочивати від спеки. Увага вихоплювала з простору красиві дрібниці.
Мені дуже сподобалися невеличкі горбики, порослі яскраво-зеленим мохом. Вчора була сильна гроза, отож ще сьогодні на рослинах лишалися краплини води.
Here grow beeches, oaks, in some places pines and some bushes characteristic of the undergrowth.
Among the mushrooms, we met single pink amanitas, ancient "rain" mushrooms and the same russulas... It hasn't rained here for a long time, but yesterday it was rain. So, a new crop may appear in a few days.
Тут ростуть буки, дуби, подекуди сосни і ще якісь кущі, характерні для підліску.
З грибів зустрічали поодинокі рожеві мухомори, старезні дощовики і такі ж сироїжки... Тут давно не було дощу. То ж новий урожай може з'явиться через кілька днів.
Наприкінці прогулянки ми вийшли на щось типу полонини, з якої відкрився чудовий вид на містечко! Старовинний костел — це мабуть єдина пам'ятка, яка привертає увагу у цьому курортному містечку.
На обрії видно гори, а світла смужка біля підніжжя — це узбережжя ріки Тиса.
До Тиси ще Україна, а за нею вже Румунія.
Дивлячись на гори, згадую, як давно я там не була.
Ось така міні-прогулянка вийшла.
At the end of the walk, we came to something like a glade ("polonyna"), from which a wonderful view of the town opened! The ancient church is probably the only building that attracts attention in this resort town.
Mountains are visible on the horizon, and a light strip at the foot is the coast of the Tysa River.
Ukraine is before the Tysa, and Romania is behind it.
Looking at the mountains, I remember how long I haven't been there.
This is how the mini-walk turned out.
What a nice place I wish I could find a cool place for escaping from the heat too.
