Wednesday Walk At Puerto de la Caleta (Southern Spain)

Wednesday Walk - Make Me Smile...10.11. 2021 Edition A challenge collaborated by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng.

At El Ingenio...

I had been hanging around the Mall of EL Ingenio to have the SIM card of my Spanish phone changed into a micro size so it fits my new smartphone. I went to the nearby shop of my provider down the coast of our town to have my number duplicated, but since my phone has a prepaid card and the shop was processing only contracts, I needed to go to the Mall some 10 kilometers away to the next town of Velez Malaga. Glad I had the new SIM card downsized thru duplication of the number.

Lily and the new phone....

I had to have a jacket for the new phone so its protected from breaking the glass in case the phone falls of the ground. I´ve had a bad experience when I got a new phone last year. The phone was just days old when it fell down from my pocket to the ground and cracked while doing shopping at a supermarket.

That was the day after my birthday and I wondered why it fell down since my pocket was deep enough to hold it. That was when I learned from home that our little chihuahua princess named Lily passed-away at exactly the time when my phone fell down. I believed that was the only way she wanted to say goodbye to me.

Puerto de la Caleta (Caleta de Velez)

Caleta de Velez is the name of the village and is nestled between the Bavaria Golf Club and the Playa de Caleta. It is the neighboring town of Torre del Mar. I always wanted to stop by and have a look at the beach and its marina. After the phone errand, I finally passed-by their beach to have a look at the area I have always wanted to see before. It was a cloudy day but I didn´t think that it would rain that day, so I went up to the small lighthouse on the breakwater and captured these images.

The Marina for the boats is located on the right side of the image above. The fishermen have their own area and the sporting locals have their own area, too.

The fishermen´s boats are anchored at the long side right of the marina (above) while a returning fisherman´s boat (below) was followed by hundreds of birds hoping to get a part of the day´s catch.

Mao gyud... Fishermen are protected here.. This had been a fishermen's village some decades ago before the tourists came.

Thanks, its not so cold here today so heading out for a sunrise walk, so thats the start of a good day for me

Our sunrise here is around 7:50 AM. Now that we have changed to Winter time (the real time) it was moved an hour earlier. We have had sunny days and no rain at the moment, but sometimes gusty winds that could last for 3 days. We have temps of around 20°C. The Med Sea is cold for a swim, so nobody dared to be in the water...

There are more places like this in the EU. But Spain got lucky to be situated in the Mediterrenean Sea ang vis a vis Africa.

Lol, the phone issue! Yeah I will surely take care that it does not fall down again. It is very expensive to have the crytal front changed and it costs a fortune that I would rather let it be as long as I can see the interface of the site. Thanks!
