Wednesday Walk - A Boring Commute Walk

Here is a typical boring commute walk to work for this #wednesdaywalk

I usually end up in Chicago early in the morning because I don't like the typical commute times when everything is packed full of people. Early in the morning the city is basically empty and desolate.

Some of these apartment buildings' residents haven't even turned their lights on yet as I arrived to the station.

Here's one lonely person waiting for an early train to leave the station. They're doing a reverse commute from the city to the suburbs.

As I leave the train into the station it becomes a commuter race. I tend to walk fast so I have to weave in and out of the slow walkers. This would be impossible if I arrived here at normal commuter time. This whole place is fully packed with people walking at a snail's pace.

Here's the Chicago river early in the morning. So far this November has been warm and its nice to stop and take pictures without freezing your hands off.

Here is the CME Group twin tower building. I wonder how many people here looked the other way at FTX's shady dealings as there were some regulators here that should have caught the scam.

Just a few early risers heading off to work on the bridges.

Now I'm stuck at the light in the center of the financial district in Chicago. To the left is the CME building to the right is the Sears/Willis Tower and up top is the Swab building. The Deloitte building is center right and at the bottom is a curved general office building possibly a We Work building. Maybe rent will be low there now.

That's all for now, time to actually start working lol.

No prob busy end of year here too.

👍🙂👍

I liked your walk, they are some beautiful photos of the city.

It looks really interesting in the gloom of winter.

You never enjoy the city when its your daily grind but when you retire - to a little getaway in the high desert of Utah or maybe the red rocks are better for you in Sedona or maybe above Denver good red rocks there too - you will miss the vibrancy of the city 😉 Nice #wednesdaywalk 👍

My wife and i grew up in the boondocks so we are always missing the country. But alas we have to make money and the city is where its at.

It is true what you say, dear friend @sketch.and.jam, when it comes to going to work, the best time to do it is early in the morning, especially when traditional hours are crowded with people.
What a beautiful city, beautiful buildings, and the iron structures of the bridges.
Thank you very much for sharing this hiking experience

Chicago is a mix of old and new structures all smashed together. Its terrible when I sleep in and have to commute during peak times.

Hahha what a Chicago walk for me it sounds like a huge city. It must not be easy to go to work when there are a lot of people like in a city like yours. Thank you for sharing a morning of your daily life

During lunch time the streets are filled and every restaurant has a long line.

I have a question about the food lifestyle in general in Chicago. Do you make meals at home or always outside? I have no idea how you worked. The only source is the films and series which do not necessarily reflect reality!

Beautyfull city dude, great pictures! i loved this post.

I'll have to do a version of this with loads of people in peak commute time.
