I found a new little park that is stroller friendly for walking with my daughter. They have a little nature center with a native fish tank. This looks like some kind of bass looking at me for food.

They also had a cool native mushroom species poster. I have found all of them except for the indigo milk caps in the upper right. Gotta keep an eye out for them for #fungifriday.

Now its on to the nice paved path. This bridge goes over a river and my baby was interested in the water below.

Out in the forest I found a turkeytail in a funnel shape. First time I've seen this...

It has been so warm here some spring flowers emerged. Though the next day it snowed.

Now at my lunch break back in Chicago I have nothing but buildings to take photos of.

Here is an interesting indoor fountain of some Greek looking god.

From a distance you can see he is sitting in a giant shell. I come here for lunch sometimes. Its a nice break from eating at the office.

Here is the Sears/Willis Tower with a skydeck viewing area that is the highest in the country.

To get away from all the modern buildings I walked far away and found an old Catholic church. I'll have to try and get to older parts of the city more often.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

Sort:

Crocus sighting. We have noticed some of our flowers showing a little growth but nothing up yet. And appropriately so. I don't think you need a poster to challenge you to forage 🙂 Google tells me that is Old St. Patricks church. Interesting its perfectly symetric except the towers. Which are different from each other and to my untrained eye also different styles than the rest of the church 🤔

Ahh so thats what the flowers are. Snowdrops havent emerged yet. Yeah it is St. Patricks, I approached from the north and thought it had an eastern orthodox vibe then saw all the rest of the towers.
