The spring flowers are out in abundance for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay

This is a walk in an arboretum where they have wild daffodils blooming everywhere.

Most of them are yellow daffodils but there are a few different colors growing as well.

Here are some white ones. I mostly came here to look for mushrooms but all the fields of daffodils were good for scenting the air and bringing a bit of color to the gray day.

Some people were really enjoying the daffodils a little too much lol. This lady was laying in them taking a ton of selfies.

Squirrel wonders what the hell the human is doing laying on its secret walnut stash by the tree. Happens every year for the poor squirrels.

I thought about laying in a batch of daffodils but decided I didn't want a bunch of mud on my back.

As I was taking a picture of the white daffodils I noticed a movement off in the distance.

It seems a couple deer were spying on the humans gawking over the daffodils. Perhaps deer like to eat them? They look a bit sad they can't come down and graze the daffodil fields.

After the walk we went to the grocery store and noticed a strange sight. A lone goose honking around in the parking lot next to police tape?

p4245642_copy.jpg
Oh wait, there's a goose in the planter in front of the Sierra Trader outdoor store. The goose on the ground is her mate making sure to protect their territory lol. State law here says you can't move wild birds once they've established a nest... And this nest is right outside their front door. I'll have to keep an eye out for when the babies hatch.

p4245644_copy.jpg
Hey human move that car along keep away from my wife!!! Honk honk. The store owners left them some water and there are some parking lot dividers with grass for them to eat so they should be fine here. Its just hilarious that they chose such a public place to nest. I suspect placing their nest here would make them safe from foxes and other predators. Plus the humans are helpful with water and don't eat goose meat anymore these days.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

What a beautiful colors @sketch.and.jam the yellows from the daffodils 🌼
The woman… hahaha made me laugh 😂
Poor flowers.

You caught some deer in your photos. 😊
Wow the geese at the store is an unusual sight. But they are protecting the nest.
Strange that they didn’t find a more “nature” spot for their nest.

The selfie lady was there quite a while. If it was a sunnier day those daffodil fields would be a great spot for a picnic. We'll see how the geese do in that location. Last year there was one right next to the carwash curb where the cars drive and they managed to hatch their goslings fine.

Hahaha maybe she enjoyed just laying there. 😉
I can imagine…

That’s a relief that a place like that would work if people look out. We will have to wait and see.
Thanks for all the info @sketch.and.jam

Happy #wednesdaywalk. That squirrel definitely has some attitude 🙂 Daffodils are beautiful. I thought the goose in the planter was a decoy at first lol. We are working to keep wild birds from "establishing a nest" in a couple of places on our house. I mean come on...we live in the country. Where ever you nest when there isn't a house around...go nest there. There are plenty of other places.

I'm sure all the birds would rather have a nice roof overhead to put their nests under vs. a tree out in the open where rain can hit them. Just so you don't get woodpeckers drilling holes into the side of your house they should be fine... unless its a bunch of house finches in the attic pooping up the place.

When we moved in last fall, there were 3 empty nests under the eaves of the house (and a big paperwasp nest). Being an industrious new homeowner, we removed them all. Along with all the overgrown shrubs that were in contact with the siding. All the birds are back now ☹️ The shrubs are budding and starting to come back. I just hope we don't get greeted by angry paper wasps soon 😅

I think it’s great they protect geese when they have nested and that makes for some novel images

I love those daffodil fields funnily enough I visited one this morning but unlike that lady I didn’t lay down in them

Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)

It was muddy there too I'm sure once she stood up her back would be covered with mud. The geese are a good mascot for an outdoor sports big box store. Maybe they will sell some extra canada goose jackets as subliminal marketing.

Lol yeah it could turn out to be good and free advertising for them

Daffodils are stunning to see fields like this in an arboretum could become a place to visit regularly to see nature.

Goose found a grand spot to keep an eye on everything coming and going, yes another good reason to keep your Wednesday walk up and out there!

Some nice unusual shots you managed, selfie queen under the tree I hope she considered the wet ground....

!LUV

There are quite a few empty planters in that area it would be hilarious if a goose took over each one for a nest.

They super protective, just now you won't be able to enter the stores 😃

These ones just seemed to hiss and growl a bit. Not quite like the really wild ones that actually attack.

Would keep distance when protecting young ones, watch them closely!

I suspect a curious teenager might get bitten as they are trying to take cell phone footage for tik tok lol. It will go viral.

Selfie session a good peck or two would have them squealing like pigs, definitely go viral!

Love the squirell and the daffodils!
Great pictures!💖

I also saw quite a few baby squirrels emerging for spring on this walk. I'll post them for #squirrelsunday

Can't wait! Love them. We planted a nut tree in our garden so they can eat and store for winter. 💖

It must be very pleasant walking among such lovely flowers, and catching a glimpse of wild life. I would have thoroughly enjoyed such a walk. It would make my day. Thanks for taking us with you on your walk. 😊

It was a nice still sort of cold windy day. All the critters were out enjoying early spring.

👍 Have a great weekend.

That's really odd they would pick such a public high traffic place. Loved the waves of daffodils.

They are so used to humans over here, most never even migrate. Last year one nested right on the curb next to a car wash with cars driving by all day. She successfully hatched her brood then took them to a lake nearby.
