Wednesday Walk a Visit to Allens Pond
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)

For todays walk I am sharing some images from a walk I took at the Allen's Pond Wildlife Sanctuary I took recently
I will share this first shot, so its the thumbnail and will talk about it later in the post

A little bit about the sanctuary which is along the Border between Dartmouth and Westport MA
Spanning hundreds of acres of protected beach, fields, woodlands, pond, and marsh, Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary was created by generous families who opted to conserve their land. Extensive trail systems offer ocean and pond views from many vantage points and afford visitors a full day of walking and birding.
At the start of the walk after I parked the car, I came to this intersection, from having looked at the tail map online when planning to visit here, I knew I wanted to start by taking the trail to the right heading to the beach to catch the sunrise first

And glad I did it was a lovely sunrise, and a nice beach, although quite rocky as since I got there before sunrise in the blue hour it was fairly dark and I had to be careful walking over the rocks initially till more light came up.
I spent a bit of time walking back and forth along the beach catching images of the sunrise, I have only edited this one so far, but will get to the others for a future post at some stage

I then walked back to the beach, and made my way back to the car

The reason I wanted to go back to the car, was I wanted to take my bigger lens with me for a walk though the other trails in the hope of catching some shots of birds, whether I did or not I will reveal tomorrow
Well I guess I gave it away I didn't get many but enough for a post tomorrow LOL
Walking along the trail I came to a curve in the frail and spotted this fawn which looked at me but stayed there long enough for me to get a couple of shots, then its Mum noticed me and off they dashed
The first image was at ISO 16000 and this one at ISO 10000, reminds me how happy I am with how this camera performs at high ISO levels and still get reasonable shots
Now I could have used different settings but i had it setup for catching images of birds if I saw one fly by and made a quick adjustment of the settings but not to much as I didn't want to miss the shot

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

This is very good in low light photography. You can take good photos in low light conditions, including night. But if more light is present, then a lower ISO is better, because the photo will be more detailed. But with higher ISO, there will be more noise in the photo.
Probably you already know this, but this could be a new thing for people, who are beginning to learn (or interested in) photography.
you raise a very good point and as you say it may be helpful for others now thinking about it I should have said somehting similar in my post
Great photos! My wife and I have been seeing a lot of fawns like that lately. Must just be that time of year when they still have their spots and all. We came across quite a few of them waiting to cross the road in the UP.
I have seen many as well but normally in the distance and through trees was nice to be able to catch some shots of this one

You did brilliant to capture the shot. We have two little ones in the woods near us, but I have only seen glimpses through the trees and never seen them still!

more worried for my wife she has had terrible tooth ache for almost two weeks now only got to see a dentist today even though we called when it started and now she has an infection and getting the tooth pulled on Friday

I love the picture of the fallow deer, beautiful. I must try and do a Wednesday walk, although it's more likely to be a Wednesday mobility scooter ride. It doesn't have quite the same ring to it!

Stunning scenery! The freshness and colors of the morning are like a breath of fresh air. It is so amazing that you go out every day, to seek out the best of nature as you are making your steps for the day. It is the very act of searching every avenue that gets you brilliant results. The sometimes off-the-beaten-path (and on it!) gets you stunning views of beach sunrises the wildlife that you happen upon and the unique hidden hiking trails.
The view of the pond was gorgeous and of course, the little deer! What a great capture! I will tune in tomorrow!!!! For sure!

I do love the variety of places I can explore around here, and yes most days I do get out early, not today as it was raining
some trips like this one to Allens pond turn out so well with a nice sunrise and catching a few shots oof the deer. others not so much
yesterday I decided to check out a little Island called Gooseberry Island about a 35 mInute drive from home, got there by about 4:30 good time to catch the sunrise only to find the gates across the road to the island arent opened to 8AM, a bit frustrating but went to a nearby beach instead

Isn't it great when it does turn out that way? It seems like nothing can go wrong! That almost makes up for the days when nothing goes right. :)
I thought a lot of the public beaches where they check local stickers are closed. They don't want to miss out on any tax revenue! :) Did you go back to Gooseberry once it was opened? 4:30? I was awake. Does that count? Or only if I have sand between my toes by then?

OHh yes indeed, we have to accept we have days that go right and days that go wrong, I think the key is to strive and find something positive either way :)
Yes many of the beaches here are resident sticker parking only, but generally early morning they do not mind, that said I almost got a ticket this morning at a Beach in Marion, I saw a car stopped behind mind and walked over to check it out, it was a police officer, and when he saw I was taking photos he said good thing you walked over I was about to give you a ticket, the beach doesn't open till after sunrise, so I got lucky ;)
and yes 4:30 counts :)

The sunrise pictures from that sanctuary looking spectacular, I love the rabbit and the fawn, that fawn was starring at you with your camera and lens, probably its first time seeing a human. As always thank you for sharing and enjoy Thursday ahead :}

Isn't that Bambi? Lol. I've never seen a deer in real life and definitely would love to see one someday. The lake looks so peaceful, and the rabbit 🥵, I'd like to own that as a pet. It's so adorable.

Lovely photography as usual but I saw this yesterday and thought, why is this posting on tuesday...somehow I lost a day and I thought it was wednesday until just now haha. That kind of week.
I wish I had my camera yesterday I was chasing a mink out of the chicken yard, pretty little creatures but terrible Chicken murderers.
I have had weeks like that as well, sometime sits hard to keep up with what day it is LOL
I dont think I have ever seen a mink myself
Oh my, these images are dope!!! The images of the sunrise are so beautiful, most especially the third one, I so much love it, I wish I could keep it 🤭.

Walking into the sunrise with much green around pond, lovely sea photography this time I enjoyed the antelope and rabbit. Knowing one can walk quietly enjoying everything on offer.
