Ohh yes I do want to visit Newport sometime, from what I have read there is so much there to see, its about an hour from me so not really that far, but far enough to make it a challenge to get there explore and take photos and get home before the wife wakes up
Im hoping she will feel better with time and want to explore and do some day trips with me

Do it!! You will absolutely love it and want to go back again and again. Newport is where I have taken some shots of a house built on a big rock in the harbor there. It is near the bridge. The early autumn is gorgeous with all the sailboats still decorating the harbor. You have never seen so many!!!
That is quite enterprising getting there and getting back! I would never be able to do it!
OHH I will visit New port and other places in RI sometime I have a list of spots I want to get i]to not sure when but I will :)
