Wednesday Walk Around the Fort

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge

For this weeks walk post I am sharing a walk froma couple of weeks ago as for a variety of reasons not least the colder temps I have not be out walking much this past week, I havent been totally slack though since I havent bene out photo walking I have been working out at home, mostly on my Quest VR headset and a fitness app on that

For this walk I went for Fort Taber/Fort Rodman Park, usually when I got here I head down onto the beach first but this time I went and walked around the Fort Itself

Yesterday was my birthday I hit the big 64 and had the beatles song will you still love me when I am 64 in my head all day LOL

NOw this Fort is called Fort Rodman, and you may wonder why I put Fort Taber/Fort Rodman Park, well that is because Fort Taber is the official name the city uses for the park, and shows on most mapapps, but the purist here call it Fort Todman park which is what it is called in many historical records, I normally just play it safe and call it the fort LOL
But the Fort itself in these first two Photos is Fort Rodman, which was never fully completed and is deemed structurally unsafe so no chance to get to see inside it unless they restore it

after walking around the dort I headed to the beach

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

Happy belated birthday to you! I don't blame you for not walking as much. Those cold temps are no joke. I had to shovel a small bit of snow yesterday. I wasn't out for more than five minutes and it literally took my breath away. Lot's of schools in the area are closed today due to the temps.

Happy birthday, @tattoodjay🎂👏! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and may the next year be filled with health and blessings! You beat me by nine months...LOL! I'll be 64 in October😉!

The fort is beautiful and I appreciate the fact that it is still well-kept even though it has not been fully completed and is deemed structurally unsafe.

Those tables and benches seem to be a nice place to sit down and enjoy a warm cup of coffee while enjoying the view and the surroundings around you early in the morning.

Happy 64th bday! It strikes me that you say that the fort is considered structurally unsafe, normally they are built as part of the defense of the coasts of the country but I guess time had no mercy on it too, today they use it as a museum or is not allowed entry?

thanks, the fort was as I understand it never finished properly it was meant to have aanother lvel and is now closed
their is a museum in the park but in another building
