Wednesday Walk Fort Taber Park
This post if for Wednesday walk challenge And Make me Smile Collaboration challenge, initially our collaboration was once a month but due to the popularity of it we have decided to make the collab a weekly thing :)
Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.
This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines
Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.
Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.
Try and get a few shots not just one
Add a bit of a write up about where you walked
You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss
Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .
Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.
I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules
I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

As I mentioned above Wednesday Walk is collaborating with the [Make Me Smile] hosted by @elizacheng,
Here are the rules for her challenge
Your post can be writing, singing, video, poem,drawing, photography etc.... the most important part is your post Make me" smile, Remember, the ME is whoever read/view/listen to your post and this includes YOURSELF.
b. Your content must be ORIGINAL CONTENT
c. Please include at least 50 Words in your post
#Fort Taber Park
now this park on maps shows as Fort Taber Park but a lot of the locals call it Fort Rodman Park, but not sure why I said that as this post is not about the fort that is there, which I have featured in other posts, but more on the walk ways there.
Now I have shared shots of the pier before but still including it in this post, as where I park the car is quite near the pier and I almost always include walking out on the pier as part of my walk there

but the majority of the walk in on these walkways around the outside with paths cuttign through the park

ITs such a refreshing area to walk, I have been there during the day a couple of times, but I do prefer it early morning as very few people are there, when these shots and this walk took place
I always find it kind of odd when there is a fire hydrant in the middle of an open area park like this

As I said there is a walkway that goes around the outer edge of the park by the water, but there are some pathways heading in by the fort

The wide angle of this shot kind of distorts the real view here but i like how this one came out, catching one of only three other people I saw that morning a runner.

I prefer the plains (mostly the nearby field). I can be alone there all day. Those (and the forests) are the best places to avoid people.
Thats how I am trying to avoid people when I get out for walks,
I would love to say something smart and complimentary here- as in like be in awe of you photos (as I always am), but they are always so sublime (just like these) and so I have no words...not for lack of trying either...

Really does look like a beautiful place. My wife would love how open it is. I can't imagine how great it must be to be right on the coast there and take in the salt water breeze each morning!
I am sure she would, it can get busy on a nice warm day but early morning is when I love it the most so quiet and hardly anyone around
Yeah I know I am antisocial LOL
In the summer when I have to work and she goes out to walk alone is when she really appreciates the open spaces. It makes her feel a bit safer.
That makes perfect sense feeling and being safe is of course very important
Bright and atmospheric photos. Great place to walk. I love the contrast of color between heaven and earth!

I have only experienced such once in a while here in California.

I also wanted to shoot the full moon, but then I was too tired and it would have been too cloudy anyway - maybe next month will be better.

Good to see you again, Its been way over 2 years since I been active. Glad to see some of the old school folks still doing their thing, I moved away from photography ( action figures if you remember) I finally found my voice and started working on comic art ( like I always should have been) Have a great day!

Yep everything is perfect right now. Had to do about 10 years of back tracking to get my life in order. This new track is way way better.

One day I would be able to participate in the Wednesday walk but for now, I would just admire your beautiful pictures.
My state isn't exactly the safest to be walking and taking pictures.
