Yeah, it is really hard to learn it. I know Japanese but there are still some words I don't understand. Right now, I stopped studying, but planning to continue learning more next year so I can be like a native speaker. 😅
Just be consistent in studying and you'll eventually be good at it.
There's an exam to gauge your japanese, it's called JLPT. Maybe you can take the test starting from N5. Many people take that exam, including me.
