Hace casi dos meses, había planeado un viaje por trabajo a Puerto La Cruz, una ciudad costera en el estado de Anzoátegui, aquí en Venezuela. No había ido debido a la salud inestable de mi madre; quería esperar a que se recuperara. Mientras tanto, hacía mi trabajo en línea y atendía a los clientes por teléfono. A veces me preocupaba no poder hacer el viaje, pero mi colega y amiga me tranquilizaba y me animaba a esperar el momento perfecto para viajar.
Al mismo tiempo, quería hacer el viaje para visitar a una querida prima que estaba gravemente enferma en la ciudad. Quería estar con mi familia materna, ayudando en todo lo que pudiera.
Gracias a Dios, mi madre mejoró, pero entre una cosa y otra, el tiempo del viaje se fue posponiendo. Oraba para que el viaje fuera posible, pues no entendía el motivo del retraso, ya que era un viaje corto.

Almost two months ago, I had planned a business trip to Puerto La Cruz, a coastal city in the state of Anzoátegui, here in Venezuela. I hadn't gone because of my mother's unstable health; I wanted to wait for her to recover. In the meantime, I did my work online and attended to clients by phone. Sometimes I worried that I wouldn't be able to make the trip, but my colleague and friend reassured me and encouraged me to wait for the perfect moment to travel.
At the same time, I wanted to make the trip to visit a beloved cousin who was seriously ill in the city. I wanted to be with my maternal family, helping in any way I could.
Thankfully, my mother got better, but between one thing and another, the trip kept getting postponed. I prayed that the trip would be possible, and I didn't understand the reason for the delay even though it would be a short trip.

A finales de la semana pasada, recibimos la llamada que no queríamos recibir: mi prima había fallecido. Afortunadamente, mi hermana adoptiva vino a quedarse con nosotros unos días, lo que me ayudó a decidir que había llegado el momento de viajar. Además, también recibí unos fondos que decidí invertir en el viaje. Todo sucedió muy rápido. Lamenté no haber visitado a mi familiar mientras estaba viva, pero decidí ir al funeral, lo cual consideraba muy importante.

At the end of last week, we received the call we didn't want to receive: my cousin had passed away. Fortunately, my adoptive sister came to stay with us for a few days, which helped me decide that it was time to travel. I also received some funds that I decided to invest in the trip. It all happened very quickly. I regretted not having visited my relative while she was alive, but I decided to go to the funeral, which I considered very important.

Salí el domingo por la tarde y pensé que el viaje en barco sería temprano, pero no pude conseguir boleto. Tuve que comprar para el siguiente ferry, que salía a medianoche, algo a lo que no estaba acostumbrada. Sin embargo, eso no iba a detenerme, estaba decidida a estar con mi familia en esos momentos tristes.

El viaje no fue muy agradable porque no pude dormir durante el trayecto. El barco llegó al amanecer y desde el puerto me dirigí a la casa de mi familia porque el funeral era por la mañana.

Se podía sentir la tristeza en el funeral, y pude cantar una canción de fe y esperanza en el servicio fúnebre, lo que ayudó a calmar la desolación en los corazones de mis seres queridos.

I left on Sunday afternoon and thought the boat trip would be early, but I couldn't get a ticket. I had to buy one for the next ferry, which left at midnight, something I wasn't used to. However, that wasn't going to stop me; I was determined to be with my family during those sad times.

The trip wasn't very pleasant because I couldn't sleep during the journey. The boat arrived at dawn, and from the port I went to my family's house because the funeral was in the morning.

You could feel the sadness at the funeral, and I was able to sing a song of faith and hope at the funeral service, which helped to calm the desolation in the hearts of my loved ones.

Tenía que aprovechar que estaba en el estado Anzoátegui para visitar a algunos clientes pendientes, y lo hice esa misma tarde.

Al día siguiente trabajé todo el día, dejando la noche libre para reunirme con unos amigos a los que no veía desde hacía meses. Comimos helado, charlamos y nos despedimos con un gran abrazo: tenía que marcharme a la mañana siguiente.

Fue un viaje corto pero productivo. Y di gracias a Dios porque todo sucedió en el momento adecuado y según Su voluntad.

I had to take advantage of being in the state Anzoátegui to visit some pending clients, and I did so that same afternoon.

The next day I worked all day, leaving the evening free to meet up with some friends I hadn't seen in months. We ate ice cream, talked, and said goodbye with a big hug: I had to leave the next morning.

It was a short but productive trip. And I thanked God that everything happened at the right time and according to His will.

Regresé al terruño con bien, satisfecha de haber cumplido con mi deber. El viaje de regreso fue placentero a pesar de las 4 horas que se pasan dentro del barco. Aproveché el tiempo para limpiar mi celular y para ver una película que transmitieron en la televisión.
Fue un gran alivio haber sido cuidada por Dios.

I returned home safely, satisfied that I had fulfilled my duty.
The return trip was pleasant despite the four hours spent on the boat. I took advantage of the time to clean my cell phone and watch a movie that was shown on television.
It was a great relief to have been cared for by God.
