The film made a special impression on me. I designated the motto of this film: it is better not to be a father at all than to be a worthless father.
All the actions in the film take place in the car and with one person, Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy). For an hour and a half, the main character rides in a car and talks to different people on the phone. All.
But what happens in the hero’s soul is chained to the screen, envelops with atmospheric magnetism and forces the viewer to hold his breath while the hero thinks about another fateful decision.
The work of the actor:
Tom Hardy coped with his chamber role just amazing. I believed every word he said, every gesture. And yes, I really held my breath when he thought what to answer the next question of the person calling him. And although I did not do what Ivan Lock did, I really hope that this will never happen in my life, but for some reason I understood him, and was ready to fall underground with him.
Atmosphere:
Very attractive camera work. I wanted to fill up a full tank and ride around the night city. Nice picture of the night track, with blurry traffic lights, lampposts and dark yellow light. Smooth, not annoying light composition, immersing in that very nightly atmosphere, when the heart beats as if it broke loose and do not want to sleep at all.
Who should watch the movie:
To someone who will soon become a father or husband, as well as to someone who had problems with his father.
What I understood after watching this movie:
You can't be an asshole. You need to be responsible for your actions. You must be able to make clear decisions and follow them. Every man can have thoughts about what the main character did. And he made a serious mistake for no serious reason. The mistake that made him lose everything. But at least he found the strength to admit it and tried to fix it.
Who should not watch this movie:
If you want dynamics and action, don't watch this movie. If you want something easy and not annoying - you are also not here. You need to be mentally prepared for this film and watch it in a certain mood and best of all alone.
