The photo that I publish today shows the Washington Monument in the American capital. It is seen from the side of the Lincoln memorial, at the left there is the famous reflecting pool and at the background the building of the Capitol (seat of the congress of the nation), with its characteristic dome. Notice that the grass is covered with snow.It is worth to remark that the obelisk of the monument was the tallest construction of the world until, 1889 when the Eiffel Tower was built.

La foto que hoy publico, muestra el Monumento a Washington en la capital de los Estados Unidos. Fue tomada desde el lado del Monumento a Lincoln, y a la izquierda de la imagen se puede ver el famoso “estanque del reflejo” y al fondo la cúpula del edificio del Capitolio, sede del Congreso de la nación. Como pueden ver la imagen fue captada en invierno, el césped del parque esta cubierto por nieve. Vale la pena reseñar que el obelisco de la edificación del monumento fue la construcción más alta del mundo, hasta el año de 1889, cuando la Torre Eiffel fue erguida.

I show the image in three formats: color black and white and sepia tone. Which one do you prefer? The camera used was a Sony DSC-F717. The edition was done in Gimp.

Muestro la fotografía en tres formatos: color, blanco y negro y tono sepia. ¿Cual les gusta más? La cámara usada fue una Sony DSC-F717. La edición se realizó en Gimp.
