I painted a portrait of my daughter Marianna.
Now I will write a little about the posts of other artists on Instagram. When I see their work and when they try to tell me that they write only professional material.
It’s funny when an artist writes in his post “guys, I paint with premium quality watercolors” and describes its amazing parameters, and “White Nights” lie in the background. And in my head I already flashed Rembrandt, the price of which is very expensive for a normal set.
No, I have nothing against the Neva palette. Even more - I draw with it, on a regular basis, only some colors have been replaced and supplemented by Ecoline or Van Gogh (I still plan to indulge in ShinHanArt). "White Nights" from the Nevskaya Palitra is the usual basic budget watercolor. She works in artists, universities, beginners and more experienced artists. This is the option that will suit everyone and everyone. It works great, but it's far from premium. Even the same Van Gogh behaves much more interesting, a bar higher than our White Nights.
And what is the premium paper we have now? State sign? The one that is 15₽ for an A4 sheet? 🤣
Okay, you can deceive a customer with premium watercolors by raising the price, but why make so many signed artists laugh?
Work process. I already showed you the drawing. First, I made a pencil sketch in a sketchbook. Then I painted on thick watercolor paper.
Remove all unnecessary with an eraser. I have a special soft eraser. I often use it. It does not leave a lot of debris like after a regular eraser. And besides, he does not leave scuffs on paper, he gently erases extra lines with a pencil. This soft eraser is called a "nag".
When I worked on this work, I used a regular eraser, you can see how much garbage after it =)
