This is a special one, one of it's kind really. Although it was my second time painting someone with freckles... It was my first time joining an art challenge!
This challenge was a Portrait Challenge to be painted within a week. It was hosted by an Art Tutoring and Community Group called **Paintable. **
The challenge was simple too, you got to pick any reference you wanted and would follow their daily steps till your painting was done within the 7 days. It also had a bonus, Prizes (lol sadly none of which I won).
So I decided to go with this beautiful reference.
Luckily for me, I still have the procedures for the painting. Now bare with me... I am messy in my work flow but I do get the job done!
So as always, THE SKETCH
Next a bit of BASE COLOR
Then strengthen with some SHADOWS and HIGHLIGHTS
Hit it with some FACIAL DETAIL and GENERAL DETAIL
Finally, REFINE, BACKGROUND CHECK and COLOR GRADE
Boom!
