Daily Painting: Tightening Up an Old Favourite (While Watching Splinterlands 101!)
Hi folks! 👋
Today’s daily painting is a little different — technically it’s a “rework” day.
I started a new daily painting of a lollypop, but honestly, it just didn’t quite go where I wanted it to.
Everything was a bit too wet, and it really needed layers that I didn’t have time for today.
Ive included photos of where it is because i love the background against the colour of the lolly pop... but... its not finished.
So instead of forcing it, I decided to tighten up an older daily painting that’s been sitting on my desk half-finished for ages.
Hopefully that’s not cheating, right? 😅

here you can see me starting the lollypop daily painting and shifting to the other one...

🎨 About the Painting
This one was part of my earlier one-hour daily painting series — I liked it, but it always felt a little “almost there.”
So today, I gave it the love it deserved:
- Adjusted a few highlights
- Brought in some cleaner edges
- Softened some overworked patches
i need another coat in the sky, which i seemed to do.. but you know when you photograph canvas it picks up all the "tooth" of the canvas. also i was working in thin layers (more transparent) as its harder to make a muddy mess when you adjust in small bits like that.
Sometimes these quick “revisit” days are just as valuable as starting something brand new.
It’s amazing what fresh eyes can do a few weeks later. it might take only a few mins to do a final adjust layer on something that might have taken a lot longer if her just slog through...
Hive, Splinterlands & Sunday Chaos
While I was working on it, I got completely distracted watching Splinterlands 101’s 200th episode — and honestly, I didn’t even mind.
I loved seeing such an enthusiastic group of people chatting about Splinterlands, Hive, and the future of the ecosystem.

It’s always a good reminder that this community is alive and evolving — and that’s something worth sticking around for.
I’m here, I’m invested, and I’m not going anywhere. ❤️
everytime i chat to them or watch their entheusiasm im always left feeling better about my place in splinterlands and hive in general.
Final Thoughts
So, today’s painting wasn’t quite what I expected —
but sometimes that’s the beauty of it. You follow where the day goes.
A painting revived, a good community stream, and the feeling that Hive’s still buzzing with life —
I’ll take that as a win.
See you in tomorrow’s post!
hopefully the lollpops will be finished by then
