Hi everyone.
I'm Matteo aka CavArt and I'm an Italian illustrator.
I want to share with you this step by step ink on paper illustration...
I suffer from something called "sleep paralysis" which leads me to have nightmares and visual and auditory hallucinations, at that moment the brain is awake but I can't move or open my eyes.
In the illustration I depicted the last hallucination I had, depicting a "anchored kangaroo that cannot jump".
It is the representation of the fear we have in making the famous "Leap into the dark" when we think about changing our lives or doing something we would like to do but we are scared by the fear of failure.

FIRST STEP
I prepared a quick sketch to bring the idea to life, shortly after waking up from the dream.
SECOND STEP
I drew the draft to find the spaces and proportions of the main figure on paper, giving shape to the subject.
THIRD STEP
with ink I started to outline the contours and put the shadows and lights in order to give volume to the drawing, and starting to put the first details.
FOURTH STEP
I continued the hatching to create contrasts and make better contours so as to bring out shadows and lights even better, giving volume and atmosphere.
FIFTH STEP
again with ink I used the hatching technique to create the best contours and bring out shadows and lights even better, adding all the final details and giving volume to the subject.

Ciao a tutti.
Sono Matteo in arte " CavArt " e sono un illustratore Italiano.
Voglio condividere con voi questa illustrazione passo passo con inchiostro su carta...
Soffro di una cosa chiamata "paralisi del sonno" che mi porta ad avere incubi e allucinazioni visive e uditive, in quel momento il cervello è sveglio ma non riesco a muovermi né ad aprire gli occhi.
Nell'illustrazione ho raffigurato l'ultima allucinazione che ho avuto, raffigurante un "canguro ancorato che non sa saltare".
È la rappresentazione della paura che abbiamo nel compiere il famoso “Salto nel buio” quando pensiamo di cambiare la nostra vita o di fare qualcosa che vorremmo fare ma siamo spaventati dalla paura di fallire.

PRIMO PASSO
Ho preparato uno schizzo veloce per dare vita all'idea, poco dopo essermi svegliato dal sogno.
SECONDO PASSO
Ho disegnato la bozza per ritrovare su carta gli spazi e le proporzioni della figura principale, dando forma al soggetto.
TERZO PASSO
con l'inchiostro ho iniziato a delineare i contorni e a mettere le ombre e le luci in modo da dare volume al disegno, e iniziando a mettere i primi dettagli.
QUARTO PASSO
Ho continuato il tratteggio per creare contrasti e realizzare meglio i contorni in modo da far risaltare ancora meglio ombre e luci, donando volume e atmosfera.
QUINTO PASSO
sempre con l'inchiostro ho utilizzato la tecnica del tratteggio per creare i migliori contorni e far risaltare ancora meglio ombre e luci, aggiungendo tutti i dettagli finali e dando volume al soggetto.
