Eloquent obscenity
__________________
An obscenity of eloquence
follows the zealot —
determined to spurn
any trace of reverence
—with smooth lies.
Ends before means,
extinguishment of principle
in the shadowed medium
of illusion insensible.
Guard your heart;
hold close your mind.
The animal within
is gullible — anything you find
superficially glamorous
can seduce your spirit
if you allow it to enter
and fester venemous.
Gaussian edges,
tunnel of hyperbole.
Hyperpolarized smudges
grow sharp as night sentry
with infrared scopes.
Still burn the fond hopes;
still flows the heart's stream
held in sway by the elements
of destruction's fell dream.
Rise above and be blessed;
emerge forth and break free
from the shackle-strewn nest:
from the beauty-strung house,
of the gold-mansioned louse—
eloquent-trimmèd false obscenity.

This is quite a beautiful, sometimes our feelings, our thoughts or even what we seem to embody within is a what is of course I can closely call the animal the metaphor seem striking to me.
Sometimes the heart becomes a hallways through which we experience or go through destruction simply because we're attracted to vain things.
Beautifully written again Dan
Thank you for an awakening poem. I wonder if there are any eloquent speakers remaining. The more we speak the more foolish we appear.
But even so I find myself susceptible to the garbage that is being put forth these days. I'm too quick to follow the trends without considering being on guard or protecting my heart and mind.
There is something inside us that still burns true and that fire should not be put out. We should "rise above and be blessed." I love the poem and the message here and it is very timely. For the next week I have only online classes so I have some quiet time to think. The time should be given to the Word and to my heart. Then I can see clearly.
Thank you.
Your works, words and presentation are always dazzling to me Daniel.
I envy you the prowess with image manipulation you show each time.
Well done @d-pend
Thank you Jerry. I enjoy processing the images, though I hope to get a newer computer soon as it can take a while to render them!
Take care
This is beautiful! I'm so confused by what I'm looking at, are they fractaled plants?
Haha, thanks. They're layers of various photographs I took (processed quite a bit, of course.) Some are leaves/plants, others were of various objects like fences, shoes, etc. :-)
This is one part that got to me.. Nice piece
Thanks!
