Hello ink lovers, today we will be careful where we walk as it is time for the word "slippery" . On this occasion I used as a model a lovely and chubby Bulldog who is so exhausted and comfortable that it has been impossible to contain all that drool.
Our canine used to drool all the time does not mind sitting on his own drool, but if he decides to get up he will have to be careful because the floor is so slippery that he would have an imminent fall. You stay as comfortable as this little dog and continue to enjoy the step by step below.
Materials:
- Opaline Cardboard (A4)
- HB Graphite Pencil
- Black Ballpoint Pen
- Black marker, fine tip
-Sketch:
With a cross in the middle of the sheet of paper I started the illustration, placing the dog right in the middle to have my work space balanced.
-Outline:
Taking as a guide the lines of the sketch, I outlined the entire silhouette, trying to make the strokes as fluid as possible, because if I stopped for a few moments the pen would spill ink.
-Ink filling:
With the black marker color the only area of solid black, the cushion, leaving some intermediate lines where you would make the side seams. I also started pointillism on his face and it almost went wrong, I had to mark the edges of his nose, as it almost got lost in the middle of so many points.
-Final Touches:
Once I learned the lesson of using too many points, I went straight to do the pointillism on the body of the chubby dog, defining each one of its rolls without abusing the pointillism, the objective was to simulate that this bulldog is of white coat.
I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
¿What is Inktober??
The Inktober is an initiative created by illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, with the aim of improving his artistic skills, but over the years has had a great impact on the international art community. The challenge is to make an ink drawing every day, hence its name, "ink" "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
