Hello Everyone! I'm going to share my first commission portrait using watercolor. This is my second attempt of using watercolor for portrait. For me the toughest medium to use was watercolor. Learning to control the water and blending of colors, it's difficult to do, but all you need was practice. Since I love painting, I've been using watercolor and been practicing to do better. Because I believe that practice makes perfect.

Unlike my charcoal portrait, watercolor portrait needs a lot of time for detailing and work. Since every detail of the portrait is important.

Here are the materials and work in progress.

Materials:

  • Prang Watercolor
  • Paint brush
  • White Poster Paint (for the highlights of the hair)
  • Canson Watercolor Paper

Very nice job! Watercolor definitely seems challenging because it’s very delicate on the depth of color. I think you did an excellent job, I’m glad you’re trying to practice and improve your skills in other areas besides just charcoal. Keep it up!
