Process:
Everything was made using Blender 2.9. The crosshatching material idea came from @cgmatter, I just personalized it and turned it into a fun scene. I've been making quite a few little animations like this one lately, mostly to experiment with Blender, rigging, texturing, animating, and ended up with a lot of cool designs that I tokenized on NFT for a few swap-hives.
The cross hatching textures really gives more depths, more complexity and more movement to everything in the scene. By itself and static, it is a really simple scene, not that detailed, which is what you want when dealing with really fast crosshatching motions.
I rendered the whole thing at 12 FPS after experimenting a bit between 8 - 12 and 14, and using the Eevee render engine. Cranked up the contrast, added those nice freestyle lines that add that cool contour to everything in the scene, and boom done! I think the whole loop animation is only 48 frames long!
