Watery Lines #1 - From grey-scale Beginnings

An unreliable author’s tale from humble linear beginnings to my actual present production. A little journey of thoughts, growth, discoveries and joy

And it started a little bit like this:

On my first encounter I was armed with a simple pencil, facing the white demon, sitting comfortably on its four straight sides, just lying on the thick wooden table, the sheet of paper.
I was also beginning to be a teenager, so my whole life was feeling new and revolutionary.
And so my first lines came out, more or less swiftly I have to say. Oh, what a feeling.
Surrealism seemed the clear path, great possibilities, fantastic creatures and landscapes, the impossible made possible.

I consider myself lucky enough to have kept this original, (shown below) to remind me of how it all started, and to confirm the belief that with time, patience and effort, we can succeed, get better, and learn so much.
Time passed, ideas came, ideas went, but stop I did not. I was in it, I had found something, not big, HUGE, and not strange, but MINE.

I don’t have a lot of process shots, in general, as I sometimes forget or am just too into the work that, I well, forget; so I’ll probably post close-up shots, details that I love and so on of the finished one.
This is my first post, and I felt it right to be about one of my personal firsts. The truth is I wished writing would be more than just a fantasy for me; words don’t come out easy, I usually try to explain everything with a picture, so this is not only new production but good and healthy for me. I’ll continue this story, illustrating it with the works. I hope you enjoy and maybe, possibly, feel not only closer to this that is me, but find some common elements with your own story.
