I'd been meaning to do this for a while but finally got around to it this morning. Making a decent looking 3D Hive token.
I only made a couple of renders for now, but now that I've got the asset made I can easily make more.
The model is really simple and all the work is done using textures. It started with a black and white map that would be used to generate all the other maps.
I then took that map into Substance Designer and created the rest of the maps that would define the rest of the material making it of course look gold and sort of grungy.
After that I did a few renders on one using a dynamic simulation to just drop a bunch of the tokens onto themselves and in the next laying them out in the honeycomb pattern.
As usual these images are for the community so feel free to use them as you like. I'll be making more soon so we have a nice library of images.
Looking now at the NEW drama and how Justin, in the most hilariously not funny demonstration of hypocrisy at its highest is freezing people's funds on Steem further proving beyond the shadow of a doubt that Hive was, and is necessary.
I've mentioned this before along with others, but Justin is doing us all a great favor by making it so undeniably clear that Steem is unfortunately dead and there is no future for anyone there that doesn't want to be a groveling sycophant. That's all tyrant's and spoiled children will tolerate without throwing a fit. I hope with this we can all come together under a single banner and move forward unified. Steem is done, and Hive will need us all to do our parts to be successful. We're out of the nest, in uncharted territory and paving the way for what a decentralized community can do. Let's do something great.
See you all in the next post :)
The same on the back?

Don't you like mine?

That is really awesome looking! I wish I could pick them up!
Good luck =). Hope you enjoy while picking them.
Yes, mine is the same in the front and the back and yes, yours is very cool! :)
=)
this is classic
I love the circuity patterns in the background :)
This is very cool and futuristic. I can easily see this as a door on a ship that slides with a Star Trek swoosh when passengers approach it. Pretty darn cool @midlet
your black and white map became a pillow...

thanks a lot for sharing the design in Discord.
Cheers
Very nice work. Classy and sassy.
