iPad Sketches and testimonial

So I recently got an iPad Pro. The 12.9 inch(biggest) one and of course an Apple Pencil. I’ve been a long time Apple customer on the phone side, but on the tablet side, I haven’t had an iPad since Gen 1. I got the very first iPad invented and when that was outdated I opted for a Microsoft Surface instead of an iPad so that I could have FULL Photoshop instead of a app. I think that was maybe around 8 years ago. So that surface is old now and it was about time for a new tablet.

I know a lot of artists are do pro work on iPads these days and a lot of my students wanted to do their homework in Procreate vs Photoshop, so I figured it must be good enough. So since I don’t buy these things often I went ahead and got the top of the line one so it’ll last me for a while hopefully. I must say… I’m impressed.

I probably haven’t put this thing down for more than 2 hours since I got it. I’m writing this post on it now. While I got a bunch of art apps for it the main two I’ve been using are Procreate and Paintstorm Studio. I like drawing in Procreate, but I like painting more in Paintstorm. The last 3 images were all painted in Paintstorm.

I’ve used a lot of stylus’s throughout my life as well and I’ve gotta say the Apple Pencil is at the very least on par with the top of the line Wacom tablet stylus. Combine all that with the small form factor, blazing speed, and overall amazing user experience and I can see what all the fuss has been about for all this time.

That’s the art side of it, but the entertainment side is also amazing. All the streaming services are blazing fast so it’s really just a crazy all in one gadget. Obviously I’m sure I’m late to the party on this since I haven’t had an iPad or new tablet for so long, but it’s been pretty amazing. Oh, and battery life. The battery life is crazy. It charges fast and easily can last all day with you using it most of the time. Alright, that’s enough gushing, obviously all the art here was drawn/painted on the iPad. Hope you like.
