Today's painting is a figure of an old man walking. I found a picture on Flickr of this person walking in rain and modified the surrounding to something more interesting.
Sketch was mainly the figure and some scribbles to keep reference of a tree and the road. I haven't done many figure drawing.. and hence was very cautious about this.
Next was the far background.. wet in wet to make it mostly smoky and cold.. should have used some colder colours but ivwent for the warmer tones to suit the coat.
Worked on the near background tree and fence next and followed by the road in foreground. And I love puddles so I made one
And then I felt it had scope of another one.. but the area was dark so I tried lifting some paint and this time left it whiter to reflect the fog and not dirty like the first one.. it worked!
Now the final hero character, I took 45 minutes to finish this and the rest of the painting including the tree and puddles took just 60 minutes. Here is a closer look of the figure.
