Today I painted a landscape in watercolor.
A simple paddy field with reflection and a small hut.
Started with a light sketch. I chose Waterford paper to paint for a change as I have been painting on handmade paper for long time.
Started with a light sky and painted the hills.
Followed by the green of paddy field. Camelin Permanent green light is such a fabulous green I love it. It's my base green these days than sap green
Painted the reflections too lightliy so it doesn't get complicated when second wash is done.
Then started with second wash of green, the midtones. And finally completed the fields with brown for the shadows.
It was almost done for me but then the sky was boring.. so I thought of just lighting it up and make it a sunset sky.
It's now that the picture really came alive. I wish the hut wasn't as tall as it is now... Would have been perfect then
