It strict my heart countless times to talk about how to make or give tips on how I create my portrait drawings.
When it comes to creating good portrait drawings, at first it might look so stressful or weighty but trust me, once you begin the sketch, the outcome is just about to wow you. I could remember how I was when o was just starting in the world of art and creativity, it was like I wouldn’t even get to where I am today but with consistency and perseverance to the odds, o I am able to achieve some self thought skills which I use for my drawings now.
I will highlight below tips on how I make my perfect drawings.
- make sure to grid/scale your paper well in boxes to represent the grid made on your reference picture
- make use of an HB pencil to transfer and sketch out the outlines of the portrait pieces
- carefully get your graphite/charcoal powder ready for shading
- make use of a smooth painting brush to pick and apply the powder on desired part to create the texture and tone of your choice
- carefully create and highlight the basic details on the art pieces.
Above are the major tips to creating a perfect and good portrait drawings.
