I just love creating characters, one of my favourites is owl.
I'll show you here how I made my character from concept to final character.
Firstly I draw a simple concept of my character .
Then I added hilights just to see if everything is alright, this is a bit messy but that's how I work :P
When I had my final shape i started to draw with colour. I Checked anatomy of bird's wing to make sure if everything is allright. This is cartoon charakter but it has to be anatomically correct...well even a little. I changed the wing's to my personal preferences :D
Here I started to focus on furry horse legs and tail.
I focused on the other wing and the hoofs so that all the elements formed a whole.
here is my favourite part of work- adding more shade on character and when its done I also added lights with a blue accent.
Last and final step was adding stroke and background. This background is flat becouse making more complicated background is part of work that takes many more working hours.
What do you think about my art ? I am still learning, so if you have anything to add, I would love to hear your comments. I would also like to add that the English language is not my best side :P
