Finally! I made and presented a portrait of the C.A.N (Christian Association of Nigeria) president who is also the immediate ex Nigerian Baptist Convention president, Rev. Dr. Supo Ayokunle. He is a man of integrity and great accomplishments indeed.

This portrait has been a long time in my thoughts, I had made a smaller random drawing of him before which I showed him a while ago while promising to make a proper one. However between my busy schedule and his much more busy schedule It never seemed like the right time.

A golden opportunity presented itself during the just concluded 2021 Nigerian Baptist Convention which was where he officially stepped down as the N.B.C president after 10 great years of service. His tenure recorded a great step forward for the Baptist family in Nigeria as well as the entire Christian body so he was well deserving of all the honour he received that day.

The occasion saw many influential people including a former President of Nigeria Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, the current Vice President of Nigeria Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, the current governors of Oyo and Ogun State, Seyi Makinde and Dapo Abiodun respectively, Kings, and many others...it was streamed live on TV of course. I was indeed thrilled to be in attendance.

I made this portrait with Reeves pastels, Derwent coloured pencils and Generals charcoal on Pelican paper, it took about 3 busy days to complete.

As a mark of uniqueness, I changed a few things from the reference photo; the tie color, the suit, and I added buttons representing NBC and CAN logos on the jacket. I so much enjoyed the process.
