WE CARRY OUT A VERY SPECIAL ARTISTIC PROJECT [ENG/ESP]

Hola HIVE espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, haciendo alguna actividad creativa.
It has been almost two years since I started studying plastic arts at UNEARTE, since I arrived at that space I have been in a process of research and understanding of ART to be able to apply that knowledge in the creation of artistic proposals for the improvement of the university, now that since I arrived at that place, everything was in decay and neglect. Last year, together with my study group, we developed a project to restore the university bathrooms, since they were very neglected, the doors were all scratched and malfunctioning; This is not the students' duty to make these repairs, but we were willing to make our effort to contribute to the change and improvement of the university.
Llevo casi dos años desde que comence a estudiar artes plasticas en UNEARTE, desde que llegue a ese espacio he estado en un proceso de investigacion y entendimiento del ARTE para poder aplicar esos conocimientos en la creacion de propuestas artisticas para el mejoramiento de la universidad, ya que desde que llegue a ese lugar, todo estaba en decadencia y descuido. El año pasado junto a mi grupo de estudio desarrollamos un proyecto para restaurar los baños de la universidad, ya que estaban muy descuidados, las puertas todas rayadas y en mal funcionmamiento; este no es deber de los estudiantes hacer esas reparaciones, pero nosotros estuvimos dispuestos a hacer nuestro esfuerzo para aportar al cambio y la mejora de la universidad.
For this disciplinary creative project, we focused on the investigation of several focal points, such as color theory, plastic language and analytical drawing; We took advantage of the fact that last year the centenary of two great Venezuelan master artists such as Carlos Cruz Diez and Jesus Soto, two characters who revolutionized Cinetism around the world, was being commemorated. We decided to study the lines of research of these masters to then select several of their works and make some reinterpretations applying the knowledge we obtained this year about color theory, plastic language and analytical drawing; Each of the members of that study group made a small replica or reinterpretation of some work of those two artists to exhibit it in classes and see the viability of materializing it on a larger scale in one of the bathrooms.
Para este proyecto creativo disiplinario, nos enfocamos en la investigacion de varios puntos de enfoque, como la teoria del color, el lenguaje plastico y el dibujo analitico; aprovechamos que el pasado año se estaba conmemorando el centenario de dos grandes maestros artistas venezolanos como lo son Carlos Cruz Diez y Jesus Soto, dos personajes que revolucionaron con el Cinetismo por el mundo. Decidimos estudiar las lineas de investigacion de estos maestros para luego seleccionar varias de sus obras y realizar algunas reinterpretaciones aplicando los conocimientos que obtuvimos este año sobre teoria del color, lenguaje plastico y dibujo analitico; cada uno de los integrantes de ese grupo de estudio realizamos una pequeña replica o reinterpretacion de alguna obra de esos dos artistas para exponerla en clases y ver la viabilidad de materializarla a mayor escala en uno de los baños.
During the course of last year we were carrying out a great production process to be able to carry out this great project, first we agreed on a sum of money to contribute among all the participants of the study group, since this is a self-sustaining project; After having the total amount of money collected, we already had an idea of how many resources we could buy to carry out the works, so we chose the works based on that limitation, we decided to carry out pure works with paint, nothing that we had to assemble. After a long time, last weekend we carried out the materialization of this wonderful artistic project.
Durante el transcurso del año pasado estuvimos realizando un gran proceso de produccion para poder llevar acabo este grandioso proyecto, primero acordamos una suma de dinero para aportar entre todos los participantes del grupo de estudio, ya que, este es un proyecto autosustentado; luego de tener la suma total del dinero reunida, ya teniamos una idea de cuanto recursos podiamos comprar para realizar las obras, asi que elegimos las obras a raiz de esa limitante, decidimos realizar puras obras con pintura, nada que tuvieramos que ensamblar. Despues de mucho tiempo, el pasado fin de semana llevamos acabo la materializacion de este maravilloso proyecto artistico.
We took advantage of the weekend to have both bathrooms empty, first we carried out several tests with the paints to see how they behaved when drying, then I was in charge of the color laboratory when making the mixtures and arriving at the correct shades that we required to make each one. the works we would carry out in both bathrooms.
Aprovechamos el fin de semana para tener ambos baños vacios, primero realizamos varias pruebas con las pinturas para ver como se comportaban al secar, luego me encargue del laboratorio del color al realizar las mezclas y llegar a las tonalidades correctas que requeriamos para hacer cada una de las obras que realizariamos en ambos baños.
We start with the ladies' bathroom; It should be noted that in my study group I had the opportunity to share classes with several classmates who have some neurodivergent condition. Not all of them managed to reach the end of the academic year with us, but three of them did accompany us and supported us in everything during the study. realization of the project; One of them is Maria Victoria, she always comes accompanied by her mother, but on this occasion her father also joined us and they were very helpful in completing the project in one day. Maria Victoria and her parents, together with the teacher in charge of that project, painted the layouts of the cubicles where the toilets are inside the ladies' bathroom; Jesrael, another of their neurodivergent colleagues, also helped them, they all tried very hard.
Iniciamos con el baño de damas; cabe destacar que en mi grupo de estudio tuve la oportunidad de compartir clases con varios compañeros y compañeras que presentan alguna condicion neurodivergente, no todos lograron llegar al final del año academico con nosotros, pero tres de ellos si nos acompañaron y apoyaron en todo durante la realizacion del proyecto; Una de ellos es Maria Victoria, ella siempre viene acompañada de su madre, pero en esta ocasion se nos unio tambien su papa y fueron de muchisima ayuda para lograr culminar el proyecto en un dia. Maria Victoria y sus padres junto al profesor a cargo de ese proyecto, pintaron las puestas de los cubiculos donde estan los retretes dentro del baño de damas; tambien los ayudo Jesrael otro de los compañeros neurodivergentes, todos se esforzaron muchisimo.
The idea from the beginning was to do two works in each bathroom, one on the doors and another on the wall above the mirror of the sinks, while they did the work on the doors, I began to draw up the measurements for the one that was in the bathroom. wall, I asked Moises for help, he is not from the study group, but we needed all the help possible. We drew a rectangle 1 meter high by 2 meters wide, then with 1cm thick adhesive tape, Moises placed stripes inside that rectangle, all the stripes had a separation of 1cm, then he put several layers of black paint on it. above to those unstained stripes of paint outside the rectangle; After the black paint was dry, we very delicately removed the stripes of adhesive tape and a Moire effect was generated with the play of black and white lines. Finally, the teacher assembled a tangle of wire in front of the rectangle that we painted to create the reinterpretation of a kinetic work by the teacher Jesus Soto, since the women's bathroom would only have works by Soto and the men's bathroom would only have works by Cruz Diez.
La idea desde el principio fue hacer dos obras en cada baño una en las puertas y otra en la pared sobre el espejo de los lavamanos, mientras ellos realizaban la obra de las puertas, yo me puse a trazar las medidas para la que iba en la pared, le pedi ayuda a Moises, el no es del grupo de estudios, pero necesitabamos toda la ayuda posible. Trazamos un rectangulo de 1 metro de alto por 2 metros de ancho, luego con cinta adhesiba de 1cm de espesor, Moises fue colocando franjas dentro de ese rectangulo, todas las franjas tenian una separacion de 1cm, luego le paso varias capas de pintura negra por encima a esas franjas sin manchar de pintura fuera del rectangulo; despues que estaba seca la pintura negra, con mucha delicadesa retiramos las franjas de cinta adhesiva y se genero un efecto Moire con el juego de las lineas de color negro y blanco. por ultimo el profesor le ensamblo una maraña de alambre frente al rectangulo que pintamos para crear la reinterpretacion de una obra cinetica del maestro Jesus Soto, ya que el baño de las mujeres solo tendria obras de Soto y el de los caballeros las obras de Cruz Diez.
Then I went to the men's bathroom to start drawing up measurements, the father of another of the neurodivergent classmates helped me, while the others completed the last details of the other bathroom, then little by little they joined us; The man who was helping me told me that he was dedicated to brass work and painting, so I confidently let him take care of the work that went on the two toilet doors alone, then another representative joined him and the teacher also got involved. to carry out another work to complement one side of the cubicle, everything turned out very great.
Luego pase a el baño de caballeros para comenzar a trazar medidas, el padre de otro de los compañeros neurodivergentes me ayudo, mientras los demas culminaban los ultimos detalles del otro baño, luego poco a poco se nos fueron uniendo; el señor que me estaba ayudando me dijo que se dedicaba a la latoneria y pintura, por eso lo deje con confianza encargarse solo de la obra que iba en las dos puertas de los retretes, luego otro representante se le unio y el profesor tambien se puso a realizar otra obra para complementar por un lado del cubiculo, todo quedo muy genial.
Finally, I was in charge of the work that was located above the mirror of the sinks, a reinterpretation of the kinetic work of the master Carlos Cruz Diez, it was 3 meters long by 1 meter high, it included 4 different shades of colors, blue , orange and a yellowish green, in the middle some diagonal black stripes, which generate a vibration effect in the very unique color of the artistic research of maestro Cruz Diez; Several colleagues helped me paint, so I could finish it that same day and it was achieved.
Por ultimo yo me encargue de la obra que iba situada por encima del espejo de los lavamanos, una reinterpretacion de la obra cinetica del maestro Carlos Cruz Diez, media 3 metros de largo por 1 metro de altura, comprendia 4 tonalidades de colores diferentes, azul, anaranjado y un verde amarillento, en medio unas franjas en diagonal color negro, que generan un efecto de vibracion en el color mujy unico de la investigacion artistica del maestro Cruz Diez; varios compañeros me ayudaron a pintar, para poder culminarlo ese mismo dia y se pudo lograr.
Truly, this whole great experience was really very special, having been able to participate in a project of this magnitude was enriching and being part of this study team helped me evolve and appreciate each person who crosses my path, because everyone leaves a knowledge to learn; Truly grateful for this wonderful opportunity, satisfied with the final result of the project and above all happy to see the reaction of the student population to see that the bathrooms now make them enter and say that they are in an arts university. De verdad toda esta grandiosa experiencia fue realmente muy especial, haber podido participar en un proyecto de esta magnitud fue enriquecedor y formar parte de este equipo de estudio me ayudo a evolucionar y a apreciar a cada persona que se cruza en mi camino, porque todos dejan un conocimiento para aprender; agradecido de verdad por esta maravillosa oportunidad, satisfecho con el resultado final del proyecto y sobretodo feliz por ver la reaccion de la poblacion estudiantil a ver que los baños ahora si provocan entrar y decir que estas en una universidad de artes. espero que este post sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.

Agradecido Jorge hermano de verdad le pusimos mucho empeño para lograr materializar ese proyecto y asi poder transformar un espacio que estaba super descuidado para lograr generar en la comunidad uneartista un gran sentido de pertenencia por los espacios comunes de la universidad 😌.
