JAVA JAGUAR (a webcomic)
by Matt S. Law (a webcomic creator)

Spread the word. Java Jaguar is leading the fight against A.I.
To those who say that guys who type a prompt into a computer to generate images aren't REAL artists, I share with you the following hard work and struggle that it took me to create this week's page.
"A half-Asian barista leaning heavily on a counter talking to a cappuccino cup in front of him."

Uh-huh...
"A half-Asian barista with a sad face leaning heavily on a counter talking to a cappuccino cup in front of him."

Proof that even A.I. can't understand PRONOUNS!
"A male, half-Asian barista with a sad face leaning heavily on a counter talking to a cappuccino cup in front of him."

Or maybe gender at all... Of course, there is a Japanese term that originated in manga, Otokonoko, for men who have a culturally feminine appearance. So maybe asking for a half-Asian barista the A.I. figured it could do whatever it wanted as far as gender expression.
So, one more time....
"A male, half-Asian barista with a sad face leaning heavily on a counter talking to a cappuccino cup in front of him."

Finally! Although I notice that he/she is not talking except in the very first image. Whatever...
I want you to know, that including the typing time, each of those images took nearly a minute to generate. So I don't want to hear anyone complaining that A.I. art doesn't require persistence, dedication and hard work. Screw you, Oxford comma! I'm conserving energy now so that I can compete with A.I.!
Oh, and speaking of Death Blossom (I didn't mention the death blossom, but that IS Java's death blossom attack in the last panel where he is shredding the A.I. Matt. What's funny is it took me longer to slash that page up than it did for the computer to generate it....). Oh, speaking of Death Blossom, did anyone see that they are making a sequel to The Last Starfighter? Just another example of pop culture re-introducing obscure things after I decide to start using it. Like when they started producing Space Ghost Coast to Coast the year after I dressed up as Space Ghost for Halloween.
I should start mentioning Thundarr the Barbarian more often so we can finally get the live-action Thundarr movie that we all deserve. What actor would make a good Thundarr? 5 Kick Points to my favorite answer.
Oh, good news. I did find a last-minute pet sit to cut down on my homeless time. Instead I will have a roof over my head in Pasadena, California for the next week. It ends the day before my next scheduled sit in Laguna Niguel, so it fit perfectly into my schedule. Life is good.
Except for A.I. art.
Screw those guys.
Boilerplate:

I am seeing a lot of 'AI' art on Hive and I tend not to give it votes, but you used it creatively and it fits with the story. I have played a little with it, but I may not use it here.
I remember The Last Starfighter well and I got the reference. It was one of the first movies to really exploit CGI. I was into video games at the time, but you had to go to an arcade to see decent graphics. It was all primitive compared to today. Babylon 5 was another example of early CGI.
You've made me feel all nostalgic :)
!LOLZ
It's been a long time since The Last Starfighter, I'm not sure if I'd like it if I saw it today. Curious to see what they do with a sequel. This was a sequel about as unexpected as Tron: Legacy, which was not good. Well, we'll see what happens.
